Question Need info on control arm differences

Plan to rebuild the front suspension on my 67 in the near future. I was thinking of picking up a set of control arms from a 71 just so I could work on them prior to tearing down the truck. That way they would be ready to install as soon as the truck is apart.

I have searched previous threads on this and found that the arms are basically the same, with 1 exception I found:

"The geometry of them are the same. But the difference is that the turn stop surface is different. The '71-'72 disk spindle knuckle has an angled surface that matches an angled surface on the lower a-frame (control arm) '70 and earlier have a different surface that the drum spindle knuckle stops against."

I want to keep the drum brakes but may at some point install discs in the front (already have the parts). So the question is does it make sense to go to the 71 control arms now (keeping original spindle), or wait until I convert to disc? I know the ball joints & tie rod ends r different as well for disc vs drum, so that would also be part of the conversion in the future.

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks guys.

I thought they were all the same???

If someone has pics of the differences maybe that would shed some light on this.
