Another one followed me home

Picked up another 59 short fleetside. This one is for my 12 year old. Its going to be a good learning project for him. It has a really solid cab and a straight chassis. Someone did a little hacking on the rear fender wells but I have the ones from the bed I cut up for big bertha to use to patch them. He wants it 4x4 and painted blue with flames....

That should be ready just about the time he is ready to take his drivers test in it. I see a young guy who will do a quality build on it too.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

I'm always glad to see father/son projects get started. Your builds are always fantastic so I'm looking forward to following this one along. Looks like a nice truck to start with.

Re: Another one followed me home

I have to finish the wife's NAPCO before we get started on this one. The place I worked closed up and Friday was my last day. It's the push I needed to become self sufficient with my Machine Shop and start doing custom work and restorations as a business. I'm excited and my boys are excited to learn the ways for the shop with me. Adam has been helping me and is getting pretty good with the mig welder so he will be able to hone in his skills on his own truck now. We are going to put a 57 clip on this one and remove the spear and all seams from the fleetside bed to make a sort of Cameo look to it. We are going to start with the bed so I can start teaching him how to make replacement and custom panels.
