Interior measurement question

What is the stock horizontal distance between the front glass and the upper front edge of the steering wheel ? Truck is a 1951 3100.

""Anybody got an assemb2ly manual? ""

I have one, but that measurement isn't provided. I am putting an Ididit tilt column in and want to get it the steering wheel position as close as stock as I can.

Re: Interior measurement question

unless your running the same size steering wheel, that measurement would be worthless
look at any picture of a stock column and base your choice on that look

Not worthless to me. Just trying to make it work how I want it to be...

Re: Interior measurement question

We have a stock 49 and I will get the measurement Friday when I get back home. Hopefully someone will beat me to it.

Re: Interior measurement question

I have been told the measurement of 6 1/8", my adapter gets it at 7", should be close enough since I gave up beer. Got the windshield in today, hope to share a dash/steering column pic soon.

Re: Interior measurement question

that good. just what I needed too. swapping a rear main seal on a jeep wrangler today. siezed everything and exhaust comes off too. it also has a gravel pit up there somewhere that drops dirt in your eye every time you look up. good for a laugh because I could totally see myself doing that too. except I would get out the door and be walking to the truck only to ask myself what the heck did I come out here for again. ha ha.

Re: Interior measurement question

Well this seems to be working like I had hoped. Original steering wheel is Bombay Ivory on a Ididit tilt column shift. I reworked the AD style horn bearing and it works like original. Almost done with wiring and ducting, then button it up and hope it'll start !
