Carving 'Nuther Notch
Not near as many notches as some here but am about to notch my 8,000th post since joining in July of '01. Have met a LOT of great people here via the board forums and also some n person at times. So much knowledge here and good folks who helped me so many times during the restore of my '71 4x4. Josh and Liz and all the mods do a GREAT job keeping the forum running smooth and on track. Just want to say THANKS for a great time and looking forward to much more of the same.

Good on you for being a great member of this community. You have contributed help and a lot of great parts to members for their builds, so you have to pat yourself on the back too. Here's to another 8000.... .. LockDoc

Re: Carving 'Nuther Notch
How much did they pay you to say all this? By now I know you know I'm kidding. I agree with all you said about the board and all that has been said about you so far. You have certainly treated me right more than once. I consider you part of the core of this place. It's members like you that make this place so great as much as the efforts of the mods and administrators. Can't make all the people happy all the time, but I see a whole lot of happy going on here. And I've seem those who found themselves not happy to get over whatever upset them and keep on hanging tight. Some say forums are old news, but not this one. The ones who say that are the ones that left for fresh new formats, not necessarily better. So certainly a dent in activity has occurred here since the time it was busting at the seams in about every sub-forum created due to so much expansion. Plenty of action in most these days. We are gaining new members about everyday it seems. I hope we all can continue on as always.

Re: Carving 'Nuther Notch
You're welcome to stay for another 8000 posts, if my vote counts. You've always given good, sound advice for people's problems. It's a good thing in this day and age when so many just want to be donkeys about things.

Re: Carving 'Nuther Notch
Just want to say thanks for the kind words and the invite to stay longer. Have really enjoyed the time here along with the feeling this site is "home" . I am also on two Chevelle websites and two Tri-five websites. I am not on either as frequently as here. They just don't have the same feeling and one Tri-five site just went thru a major site change and is really hard to navigate thru the new maize of settings. Has lost a lot of long time members due to many issues most of which stem from the site no longer being privately owned and operated. It is owned and operated by a LARGE company and seems mostly to be for revenue enhancement. Massive amount of banner ads, side bar ads and ads stuck between thread posts and has lost the flavor of being for enthusiasts. It's a sad mess from what it once was.

Re: Carving 'Nuther Notch
8000 good posts, not drivel like me haha!
As an aside I just checked on Longhorn Mans post count to see if Tim has caught up to him yet. Weirdly it says he only has 2700 posts ... I wonder if his post count rolled over? Ok I know they dont roll over .. It was a joke =)
