ad fender hood gap

im stumped. been working on getting a nice gap fender to hood. it looks like the rear of the fender should come up more but the cab underneath wont let it come up enough. what to do . weld in some filler metal?

we have 8 of these trucks a and no two are alike from the factory.`

That AD truck snarl between the left fender and the hood is built in. I've seen probably ten trucks in the past 39 years since I bought mine that didn't have that gap and a couple of those were really high end builds for their time. I'd suspect that the body man put a few more hour in getting rid of that gap on those.

perfect hood to fender gaps don't come easy. see pictures to see what i had to do to get the pass. side to fit like the drivers side..

Thanks for asking this I was going to ask the same question. We've been messing with trying to get the hood and fenders right for about a week (couple months here and there).
I suspected they didn't have a perfect fit from the factory.I will have to keep an eye on this thread and show it to the two students I have messing with the front end.
