Quite a few threads/posts on here about them. If you type "Brazil trucks" into the Google search box above and click the circle in front of "67-72chevytrucks", then click on the "Google" button they will come up....

Re: Brazilian suburban??

I wouldn't say the Suburban is modeled after the truck. They were designed as part of the same line of models and released together, same as their USA counterparts. I see shades of being modeled after the 64-66 Chevy light trucks.

Re: Brazilian suburban??

It's not like they are copied from 60-66s but body is built similar with some cues taken from them, such as grille and tail lights. The distinctive upper body line of the USA Chevys is certainly missing, so a very different look on the side. But the hood/fender deal is same and so is the windshield. Look at this one with no hood to distract

Here is a '64 grille that to me shows shades of the 60/61 grille

This grille looks like a downsized 64-66... to me

Re: Brazilian suburban??

Definitely has some styling of the older us Chevy's
Curious if they ever made them in a 4x4 platform. Always see them lowered or stock 2wheel.

Re: Brazilian suburban??

it certainly is an aquired taste

is that a 250 or an older 235 type engine?

did they continue to make the 235's in the 70's?

Could be. GM "sold" the 235 engine rights to Toyota for use in Land Cruisers, and VW washed their hands of the Beetle, but they were built for many years after that, in Brazil, IIRC.

Re: Brazilian suburban??

A Brazilian Suburban. Man, that's a lot of Suburbans!! Actually they are called Veraneios. Take a look at the steering wheel on this '72. Looks like a fancy earlier truck wheel. The bed floors are wood in the trucks. They were all 3spd and there were two 6s offered. I know one was a 261, so the other must be a 235. There was a pickup listed on Ebay in Miami last year and that's where I got the info

Re: Brazilian suburban??

Very cool thread. I always love learning more about our Chevy trucks, and I've never seen, nor heard of these before. You'd definitely be the only one around with on if you had one here.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Brazilian suburban??

I think GM sold the design rights, only, and reserved their right to produce as well. I read that they came with either 235 or 261
