Their specs are perfectly explained, if you read where they get their baseline dimensions from. People assume to much that they read, so they never get the total story, instead of going right to the source.

I'm actually hoping they have a Cyber Monday sale, so I can buy more stuff from them. I also order most of my stuff from their Ebay store because that usually saves me about 10% and almost always has free shipping too

Well the fact of the matter is, in this case, CPP flat out let a bad part get out the door.

I ordered the modular spindles from Summit, they showed up, and as soon as I looked at them I knew something was wrong. I got in contact with Summit, they checked another set they had in the warehouse and confirmed mine were bad. After that they quickly sent out a new set at no cost to me, and included a UPS shipping label for me to send the bad pair back. This is the kind of service I expect from Summit.

I have read many times all over the forum people have had trouble dealing with CPP direct. Maybe they would have handled my situation well, but I didn't want to chance it. In the end, they still got a sale, and I still got the product I wanted.

Interestingly enough, the second set of spindles Summit sent me also included the caliper mount bolts/hardware (not mounting brackets, just hardware) and instructions. My first set did not have those, though the box was factory closed and intact. I guess they just forgot them on the first set?

I saw that. I sent Dave an email seeing if they would match the price and if so add them to my order. If not I'll be ordering them from summit on Monday.

Spending the day out in the garage working on nothing but the truck. It's about time. Did my Sunday ritual of getting 5 gal of kerosene and wandering around Rural King. While at RK I picked up an IR air hammer. HOLY COW!!! Where has this thing been all along? I was about to pull the trigger on a Matco/Snap-ON air hammer but decided to try this out for $52 as it got good good reviews online. Bought a chisel for rivets and this combo zips them right off. Takes about 2-3 minutes per rivet. It also take a little to get use to as I have to breakout the sanding wheel where it got away from me on the first one.

Took advantage of the Summit sale and got my CPP spindles. They arrived on Wednesday.

Anyways the front 1/3 if the frame is pretty clean, so next is a quick garage cleaning and then I finally get to start bolting up some Porterbuilt gear! Stay tuned.

I used the same one to get all rivets out of my frame. Worked like a charm.

Yes it does. I also got the chance to use my new impact driver. I bought the Dewalt kit Lowe's had for Black Friday to replace my aging Porter Cable kit. The impact driver is very nice to assemble bolts.

Well I apparently ran into a snag. While assembling my inner trusses I realized I don't have a bracket to mount the trusses to the DM. From the pics and instructions there appears to be a bracket welded on that mine does not have. I may be overlooking something but I've emailed Nate and waiting to hear back.

Overall I had a great day out in the garage.

Well I received an email from Nate and as I figured, I'm missing the tabs on the dropmember. Not sure how that passed QC, but as my luck would go, I'd receive that very one. Anyways I guess I'm shipping it back to him for a couple of additions. What really stinks is the fact I've had these parts since May and never knew it wasn't right. Story of my life

Well another day and very little done in the truck. It's hard to believe I'm closing in on having this truck for 2 years. It's sad it's nowhere close to being done but then I've changed directions on the build.

I re-arranged the garage...again to make room for my new Christmas present/toy. I broke down and bought a side by side. I've had a very good year, always wanted one and now that I've got quite a few friends/family with them I decided what the heck. Supposed to be picking it up this week.

I did manage to get the two plates off on the inside f the rear frame. When Todd came over he noticed I night have a bad spot under the driver's side plate. Took it off and wasn't as bad as I thought. However the metal is thin in one spot. Not sure if I need to patch it or not.

Side by sides are a BLAST. We have one and love to go riding. I use it for projects around here too.

Spot on the frame doesn't look bad, but it's tough to tell in the pic. Would be easy enough to cut out & graft in a new piece. You'll have extra frame pieces/parts once you start cutting in the notches & the other PB parts.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. I'm back at work for 2 days then off for the rest of the year. My inner frame stiffener is slated to arrive tomorrow so I'm hoping to get a little wrench time on the truck in the next few days.

I also picked up my new distraction last week and we took it out Christmas Day for a couple of hours with my cousin and his wife. So far we love it and ready for warmer weather so we can really enjoy it. The truck progress will be slow(er) over the next couple of months due to the re-cooping from this purchase and I've got a few more things I want to do to it before we start hitting the trails.

Now I'm just waiting on my dropmember to come back. Next day I get a chance I'm going to move some more stuff into the trailer, take back the borrowed non-collapsible cherry picker (takes up too much space in the trailer), and pick up a collapsible hoist. Then I should have the room to build a dolly to put the cab on.

Other than front sway bar I believe I have everything to mock up the chassis.

Good to know the IR air hammer works on the rivets. Mine from Canadian Tire doesn't do anything to a rivet and I wasn't sure about buying a better one.

If you've got more rivets to get out, grind an X in the top of the rivet head with a grinder, then air hammer the head from the side. Use a punch and it'll pop right out.

Please don't ask me how many rivets I had left when I figured this out

I was hesitant because I've read you need a Mac, Snapon, Matco, etc which are like $300. But I also figured I've wasted $60 on worse things before and I'm glad I bought it.

You know I forgot all about the X beforehand until the other day when I was re-reading a build thread. I felt dumb however I get the chance to redeem myself as there's several more rivets to remove

Well been spending most of my time (and money) playing around with the Teryx. I love that ride, it's a lot of fun. I now don't have an issue selling the boat.

Finally got my DM back from Nate the other day and out in the garage with doors open and the race on. A little slow moving due to a back injury from my first day back in the gym in a LONG time last weekend. Getting old sucks!

Got a little moe time in on the truck today. A-arms and upper ball joints are in. Too tired to press the lowers in so I'm going to call it a night. It's starting to come together.

Wasn't nearly as productive today as yesterday. Had a buddy come by and buy some parts, both him and I attempted to press in the lower ball joints and started on the rear trailing arms. The sale of the parts will help towards the purchase of my front brakes.

Yesterday I bought the Harbor Freight ball joint kit. Either it's junk or both my buddy and I are not smart enough to get it to work correctly. I'm going to take it back and rent one from Auto Zone. Nathan's what he usually uses and said its much nicer. Let's hope so.

The trailing arms are out with the expection of the passenger bolt at the crossmember. PB Blaster, breaker bar and a 2' steel pipe won't budge it. I'm pretty sure my impact is not strong enough to get the job done. I'm letting a 1/2 a can soak overnight and will try again tomorrow night.

I seem to have been a bit preoccupied with work and the Teryx but spent a little time tonight on the truck. Got the trailing arms, lower shock bracket and trac-bar bolted up. I had to cut the bolt off the passenger trailing arm which seemed to take forever. Summer is always slow progress on the truck but I'm still plugging along
