Procar Seats in 66'

Has anyone put a set of procar seats in their truck? Im looking at the lowback vinyl ones, and just wanted to see if anyone has done it before. These are the seats and brackets for it. The brackets are the universal ones, but just curious if anyone has experience. Thanks in advance!

Not a '66 but pretty much the same as far as seat fitment goes.

I just installed the Summit procar bucket seats in my 66 C10. I used the universal 81000 Summit seat brackets. I found a 89 bench seat frame and used the
outer pieces for my seats. I am 5' 8" so it worked fine for me. I made the
inner bracket 1/4 shorter than the outer to try and level the seats. Seems
to be right on. My gas tank is behind the seat. I will be moving it soon.
Here are a couple of pics. Tim

Re: Procar Seats in 66'

I tried one in my 63, and thought it was about 10% undersized and lightweight. A good seat at a great price, but it seemed too small.
I ended up with high quality seats from Larry Dennis Company in Ft. Worth, covered by Fuller Upholstery in Haltom City.

Re: Procar Seats in 66'

Here's what mine looked like with the stock Procar seats installed, and later after my son whipped up some diamond stitched covers for them that I installed and added buttons to: My seats are about 15 years old now and every bit as comfortable as when first installed.

I like those seats. In your updated photo it looks like you moved your gas tank and you have a speaker behind the seats?

Yes...moved the gas tank and made a pattern out of card board that goes all the way across the back and behind the lip of the door facing....if you do it right
you can slide it behind one side and then behind the other door covering all. I used blocks of wood to space it out and keep tension so it holds against the back of the door facings...worked out great. I then cut the pattern for the top and used velcro so can take off when I need to.

The armrest are 66 chevelle...can be bought alot of different places and
in different colors...the holes are different so have to do some measuring
and either cover door panel or fill in and repaint....Tim
The stainless strips came from an older impala...maybe from
the rear.
