1972 Cheyenne Super Longhorn 30 WIW

Going in the morning to look at one that is for sale.

It has factory tach, bucket seats, console headliner 400 BB w/ ac power steering, tool box, aux. tank, no spin axle and heavy spring/swaybar package.

The bad is it has been sitting for about 9 years without being run and sitting outside. From the picture he sent me it looks as if it has its share of normal lower rust and I would assume the floor is gone out of the bed. All 4 tires appear to be off the rim.

I am hoping it is in good enough shape that I can restore and make into a dually but if its to far gone would still like to buy for the parts.

Is $2k a reasonable price?

Very cool truck.
I would say $2000-$2500.
Lots of cool options.

I'd tell him $1000 , it's got a fair share of work to be done to make it road worthy and nice again.

That is an understatement...... I went and looked at it this morning and even with all the cool hard to find parts that it still has that are in good shape I could not justify shelling out 2g's for it. With that said I did talk him into delivering it on his rollback this weekend.. Once I get it on the concrete at home I will better determine the fate. Cool thing is I will be 2nd owner if i do restore it..

here are a few more pics I took today

These may have been worth half the cost of the truck

Here is the full spid. Can anyone tell me what the PB means on the radio option. I assume it was like a push button option?

I have never seen these emblems are they correct for this truck? They kinda look like the belong on a square body.

Re: 1972 Cheyenne Super Longhorn 30 WIW

I don't believe the emblems are correct... they never called these trucks camper specials, they were custom campers. I think Ford's were camper specials.

Looks like the AM FM is gone, thats to bad if so.

Re: 1972 Cheyenne Super Longhorn 30 WIW

I bought the truck and got it home. Got it for less than asking price & he delivered it on his rollback. It has its fair share of rust. I started a thread in the truck forum.

I have been told the camper special logo's are from 73 and up square. I was hoping for the radio as well but long gone. Does have a cool 8 track player though with a few Elvis tapes
