Re: carpet hold down strips

This is the Rear carpet strip, I used a different rubber gasket for the tailgate, I still have to trim the carpet to go under it.

Re: carpet hold down strips

The link is the one I took from a 72 front side but it the one you need for the back side to hold the seal around the tailgate that is why it is open on the one edge. There was a good article stating that some came with double ones like this and some came with one of each and others came with the 2 singles 45 degree bent ones. If that all makes sense I attached a picture of the single 45.

Where did you find the rubber insert? My metal strip is in good shape but the rubber is funky and I would like to replace it.

The rubber seal I used probably came from Amazon N281-295 says its $2.17 + $4.68 shipping....16'.....I did modify it, shaved round bump off bottom with a sharp chisel. it maybe found at Home depot also... bought the correct rubber bubble seal but didn't use it, won't work with my side panels and didn't like how it fit the tailgate...

Re: carpet hold down strips

interesting... I put camper foam on the body side flat edge to seal the tailgate. All I have is the side strips. The fumes were strong riding with the soft top up in the rain for the past few weeks. I'll have to find a carpet strip and a seal. I don't have carpet yet either.

Re: carpet hold down strips

Finally got my new carpet strips installed this weekend. Installed Rear one with weather-strip and carpet. Thought I would share some pics. I still have some more strips available on the parts board if you need one.
