Re: 68 build...south of DFW

Which headers are you using? I'm in the situation regarding the radiator that I need one with a passenger inlet / outlet. I was going to check with PRC radiators to see how much one would cost.

Are those the Chevelle headers??

Re: 68 build...south of DFW

The headders are for chevells/and early model camaros and are the shorty ones. I found someone on ebay that builds radiators for 67-72 truck with LT1s. They are aluminum and have the electric fans with fan shrouds included.

Here are a couple of pictures with the core support. My dad had some old rally wheels that I am using to roll around on. Think they will be on until after all the paint work is done so the new wheels stay new.

I found this really straight 67 front clip. All of the sheetmetal on it is in 10x better shape than what I have and it doesnt have the marker lights. I need to start getting rid of the other front ends I have.

The round ones on each end came from Vintage Air, the one in the center of the dash is from a 64 Caddy!

I have decide to hold off on buying rims and tires for a while. If I were to get them, they would just sit in the corner until the paint is finished. Im going to try and start working on getting the cab and bed on next.

Sweet, funny I'm just now seeing this thread. I bought your grill last night, talked to your dad for a while about yours and his truck. I figured you may have had a build thread.

Re: 68 build...south of DFW

Im getting ready to head out of town for a couple of weeks but that fuel rail cam in and I got it swapped over. Its out of a corvette and lets me run the lines on the passanger side. It is polished and this picture doesnt do it justice.

My dad used to have a paint and body shop and he is the one that will be doing the majority of the paint and body work. I picked up a gallon of primer and Im hoping he will be able to get some of the body preped while im gone.

Re: 68 build...south of DFW

I got the panels from LMC, they had the best price with the free shipping for orders over $1000. I got a body mount kit with all the bushings and bolts too. I forgot to get the bolts that bolts the panels together. Anyone know what size they are off hand?

I may be wrong but I think most of the bolts to hold the bed together are 5/16-18 flange bolts with the washer built on to the heads and nuts.
Something like: THIS
I can't remember if they have pointed ends or flat? I can look at mine tomorrow and get back with you.

Got home today and got the bed assembled. As soon as I get the rollpan back and get it welded up I will take it back off and get it primed.
