my new 1970 c30 camper

A buddy of mine called me and said that his boss had this camper that he wanted to sell and that his family was the original owner . I was not in the market for a camper but then it thought these vehicles usually don't get a lot of wear and tear on them seeing they're only driven on trips, so i went to check it out , and guess what? i found c30 gold!!!! this truck was completely rust free, dent free, and it runs great to boot. these pictures are of the camper in its present state. i will upload some new ones as soon as i get it home.

Cool purchase!
Does it have a "walk thru" cab?

It does have the walk thru cab , I thought it was funny that the center consol was backwards . That's so you could walk through.

Re: my new 1970 c30 camper

I want it! Hey Tony, now that you have that don't start getting too cocky with your wife. I know it's every man's dream to live a simple life in a camper, but don't forget you need a place to mess with trucks (and your wife is probably real nice and your kids are most important and you'd be broke all the time and...)
I had a Medium Gold Poly '70 Custom Camper/30 like that. I bought it w/o the camper (Winnebago) and it had a Parchment interior. Some differences but very similar. Cool trucks!

HEY,DID YOU FIND "PARK" YET????

Re: my new 1970 c30 camper

I have to tell you guys , I've owned quite a few trucks and i have to say that this thing is about to dryest rust free original condition vehicle i have ever seen. i got it from the original owners family. It has been parked under an owning for most of its life. it would be a shame to part this.......... i might have to post it complete. I've never seen original condition seats this nice. the carpet is perfect. the dash is free of any sun damage. the dash pad is in perfect condition. look at the door panels , they're gloss black and perfect. I need to get it to my shop this week and dive into this thing. stand by for more pictures after i clean it. This would be a perfect addition to a C10 Kings collection..... hahahaha

Re: my new 1970 c30 camper

PLEEEEEEASE dont part that camper. that thing is so sweet just like that.At the very least post it complete and give it a chance. I would run out to California to buy that in a heartbeat bit if I can afford it. Put me first in line if you decide to sell it complete. Are there any leaks in the camper body? Does the air work? How many miles?

Re: my new 1970 c30 camper

I was noticing how the overhang protected the interior from the sun. Look at that chrome on the cluster! Mine was also well preserved. I was impressed that a large one ton could be so tight without a rattle. Most are rode hard and put away wet and an RV is the opposite...treated with tender loving care.

See mine in the background when I first got it? The next picture is after I built it for work. I hesitated on my plan as a work truck, went back to the seller to ask about the camper body, and found out he had scrapped it when he first got it. His plan was to put a rollback on it. I looked for a while for another camper body and even considered having one custom built. Then,I found my '71 Cheyenne Custom Camper/20 pickup w/slide-in and went ahead with the work truck plan. That was the coolest work truck I ever had!

Yes, not only are Custom Campers found with much less wear and tear, these trucks were usually special ordered with options. Take your truck, it is a base model, not a CST, but it has chrome front bumper, tinted glass, power steering+brakes, automatic, air conditioning and bucket seats!

I had one like that, but green. It was in excellent condition also, but I ended up parting it because I had no use for the camper. Campers never got driven in the snow and rusted!
