Burb Seats

Been working on the comfort issues with my burb while I am waiting to get the body finished, here is what I got done. I had a frame that I made but, it was too high, so back to the drawing board. Got these 06 Ram seats in with the new frame and its 14 inches to the top of the seat and they feel great.

Next, going to work on the second row seats.

Re: Burb Seats

I was suprised how well they fit, comfort was the driving force. Got to weld up the frame and powder coat it so it looks nice.

Re: Burb Seats

Well,
Got the second row in and it looks super sweet. I have bought a few second row seats and they never matched the holes that my burb has. Must be different between the 67-70/71-72 seats. O well, I took the brackets of a old seat and got to work on putting in the Dodge Ram chairs in the back.

Turned out well. Next to get the seat belts in and start working on other things. These seats are temp as I continue to look for another set of 06's to match the front.

Re: Burb Seats

Lookin' real good.
The second row mounting difference you had been experiencing might be because they made two different widths of second row seat. The Suburban could be ordered with either a full width second row (for burbs wtih only 1st and second row seating) or the narrower second row seat (for burbs with all three rows of seats). My '70 Suburban came with the full width one originally and we had to drill new holes and weld on fasteners to mount a narrow second row seat in it.

Re: Burb Seats

Very nice! I'm looking at doing something with seats in my '69 and I like the Ram seats. I'd like the option of having bench seats front and rear, but a fold down armrest to divide them when there's less travelers with me.

Re: Burb Seats

Thanks,
They turned out better than I expected. Once the frames get powdercoated, it will be real nice.
