Tail Light Suggestions

I'm going to go pick up this burb this week and wanted to ask what you guys think of tail lights??

My plan is to go patina, so the shaved gate will just have to do, but what about lights??

The obvious is to go LED but it just doesn't go with the theme of the burb.

Re: Tail Light Suggestions

I like this burb alot. It has only two spots of rust and I don't do bodywork so that's really important to me. Just not sure about the rear.

Re: Tail Light Suggestions

French in some 50 pontiac units in the roll pan. That's what I run on my 70 and it keeps it simple and could go with your patina theme.

Re: Tail Light Suggestions

to me I underst6and what the gyt was doing But I'm more of a stock guy and i like both tail gates.I like the rear tail lights on the truck and the suburban.

Its like my friend has a 1969 Camaro Z28 well he gutted it 25 years ago and thow away the 302 engine and went to the 427 he cut the car up and put roll bar's in and took the dash out every night he goes into his shed where the car still sits and he cry's.He tells me he has no idea why he did that to that car.even tho its a factory 1969 Z28 car but everything that made it a Z28 car is Now gone.

I see the customizes try to change what a truck or car should look and most of the time there projects never seem to be finished or ever touch the road again.I like the stock look cus there is nothing on the road with that body shape.

We will never see a square angle Car or truck again. Its not arrow dynamic.

For one we are on a limited bases now days do to the recession No jobs and all of the builds that where going on now sit to to putting food on the table.I say build something that can be used and made money with if need be.But that's me I've always worked my hole life I own 15 trucks from 1964--72 to me trucks are money makers But hope it works out for ya

Re: Tail Light Suggestions

Considering the whole rear is sans anything to break up the look, why not consider building some LED light enclosures that would mount inside the Burb and shine through the rear glass?
I think that would look very cool to not see any lights until they were in use!
And I'd put backup lights under the body far enough to not be noticed until they were in use.

Re: Tail Light Suggestions

How about some flush mount tail lights either one long horizontal strip down where the tail gate gap was or two vertical ones where the old tail lights were?

Re: Tail Light Suggestions

I have to agree with stsalvage, it hard to be the perfection of a 67-72 Chevy pickup, blazer, or suburban. The best looking trucks ever made!

Re: Tail Light Suggestions

No offense, but if every car and truck out there was kept stock it would be a pretty boring world. I personally like both just for the variety.
I'm also like your buddy with his modified '69 Camaro. I've got a highly modified '71 SS396 that I've owned sine 1973. It's got numerous changes that aren't stock like a 427, rollbar, aftermarket suspension, rear area redesigned to make it a "business coupe". I've never lost any sleep over it, or shed a tear. It still get tons of attention at cruise-ins.

Re: Tail Light Suggestions

I'm not too keen on the tailgate myself, but I do like the look. I might see what it would take to put truck tail lights in it. My blazer is the exact same way, but it customed out. That's not the plan on this thing.
