Thanks brother, as of now I'm leaning towards doing what mcbassin suggested and throw a set of rollers on there. I don't just want to throw any wheel on and be unhappy. I have the 22" tires sitting here and my options are pretty slim, either I run a set of Coys which I really don't want to do or I go back with Billets. Problem is, I don't trust the companies with the barrel issues right now.

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside

A little progress from yesterday, I made a 1" spacer for my trans mount so I could space it up from the Porterbuilt crossmember. I also finally got my sway bar installed. It was about 110 with the heat index yesterday so it was an early day for me.

wow they look awesome! Glad to see you didn't have the problems I had mounting them! Intro is back at the top of my list if I decide to go with Billets again! I don't care how long they take to come in as long as they come in right!

Thanks and I feel like it's going slowly! This frame should have been down on the wheels months ago. The sway bar is the one that came with the Choppin block front kit!

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside

Couple of pics of my new rollers and the frame finally down off of jack stands and layin out on the garage floor. I had no interest in dealing with the billet wheel companies so I went with a wheel that has always been a favorite of mine and were dirt cheap compared to billets.

These are the one piece TTII wheels in 20x8/20x10. I wrapped them in Nitto NT555 G2, 245/45/20 in the front and 295/40/20 in the rear. I will roll with these until the truck is finished and on the road. I'll revisit the billet wheel option at that point if I want to change them. I also ordered some flat center caps too as I have always liked the look of those.

I started working on the exhaust this weekend too. I picked up some Black Widow Race Venoms and a 2.5" exhaust builders kit from summit racing. I think I'm going to exit the exhaust in front of the rear tire so I'm starting to plan it out now. Just have to figure out how I'm going to mount the mufflers with the bed cross sills and if I want to go through the bedside or do something else. Either way, that cammed LS should sound pretty nasty with those Race Venoms

Where did you order your wheels and tires. I'm interested in going this route alsof on my 67. Front end converted to 5 lugh from donor 71. Also switched rear axles into my 12 bolt.

Nice looking build.

Always loved the TTIIs. When you can't decide, TTIIs will always do the trick! Might end up putting some gray TTIIs on my '92 RCSB Sport in the future.

How many times can one say "TTIIs" in three sentences...

Always awesome rims to go with. Why not 3" exhaust? Seem like the LS motors like to breath more.

Nice looking build.
I ordered the wheels from Jegs, I ordered just the fronts first because I was concerned with the spokes clearing my brakes. They fit with plenty of room to spare, so I ordered the rears from them too. Jegs has free shipping and they had them in stock. I also knew that if I had to send them back, Jegs was easy to deal with. The tires I got from discounttiredirect.com. Just watch out on the rears with the narrow 67 rear as the backspacing is 5.75" which works fine for my truck because they need to tuck up inside the bedsides when aired out but might look to sucked in on yours.

I figured I couldn't go wrong with TTII's.

I remembered them on your silver truck, what size did you end up going with this time?

Thanks, I was this weekend too. As soon as I dropped it down on the ground, I stepped back and smiled.

I thought about doing a 3" exhaust but didn't want to deal with any clearance issues running through the Porterbuilt inner frame stiffener. The 2.5" is tight so I'm happy I went with that. Believe me, if I wasn't building this truck to lay frame, it would have had 1 7/8" long tubes and 3" exhaust on it.

I ordered 18's with the PVD coating, but the rear ones have been on B/O for two months now. Newstalgia Wheel called last week to say it would probably be another 8 weeks. I prefer a bit more rubber for the ride quality, but I may have to abandon the 18" route and go with 20's like you did.

Thanks, It's about 4 1/4" in the rear! I would have liked a little more lip but they look pretty good!

Wow 8 weeks huh, I had these in less than a week! I would just step up to 20's in the rear if I was you! You can fit a decent size tire under the rear of these trucks so you would have plenty of sidewall!

Thanks Duane, I was actually pretty impressed by how good it looked! Made me forget about the issues I had with those other wheels! I know these don't have the same wow factor of the Heritage wheels but at least I can use these and they aren't just very large expensive paper weights!
