It's only scary when you first start sanding, after that, it's actually kinda fun. Best part is parking wherever the 'F' you want and not worrying about it

All kidding aside, your truck is beautiful. Redemption is gonna be a different kind of beauty

Thanks guys, it makes a huge difference when you can actually see the project look like a truck again. I was a little down on it after what happened to me with the Billet Specialty wheels. Now after seeing what it's going to look like, I have renewed excitement to keep plugging away at it.

Thanks Chris, I'm hoping she turns out pretty nice. Funny story, my girlfriend's 3 year old told me yesterday that it looks dirty Guess he doesn't understand the Patina/old paint thing yet, but he will

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside

Set the truck at ride height today and checked my tire to fender clearance lock to lock! I had plenty of room, one less thing to think about! Then in about an hour it was back to just a rolling chassis

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside

Made a change to my build that I think is for the better. It will save me a ton of time with rust repair. I picked up a 99% rust free cab from California with doors! I say 99% because it has a little spot in the passenger side kick panel area I will need to fix but everything else is in absolutely amazing condition. The outer and inner rockers, cab corners, floor, cab supports, firewall and just about every other part of the cab are in great shape!

It is a 69 A/C cab wearing its original 507 light blue paint with a good title. Plans are match the rest of the truck to the cab and doors. The doors are in great shape as well, just need to fill some extra mirror holes in the door skin! Don't know why someone would drill so many holes for mirrors

Someone turn you on to the cab/doors or how did you find them?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

A good cab is THE key piece to building these trucks.
Congrats on your purchase!

Don't laugh but I actually found it on ebay. I certainly wasn't looking for it at the time. It was listed for $750.00, so I contacted the seller and conversed back and forth for a few days about the condition of the cab and doors as well as the title. The seller was actually making a trip out east to Rhode Island, Connecticut and Maryland dropping off some other cabs, so it was nothing for him to stop in NJ and deliver it to me. We worked out the details and settled on a very decent shipping price. So I decided to take a chance and bought it. Turns out it's probably the best decision I made for this build.

Thanks, I agree 100% with you on that statement. I'm going weld up the misc. holes the cab and doors have in it as well as shave the firewall and then try and match the rest of the panels to the original Light Blue paint and patina this cab has.

I wasn't exactly looking for a cab but I couldn't pass it up when I found it, now I wish I never bought all the patch panels for the other cab, but it is what it is so they are up for sale
