Re: Good start to a project...

Update!

So my wheels and tie rod adapter sleeves finally showed up, then I was trouble shooting some wiring and found out the fuse box was done, we all know how this snowball ends up...the truck had idiot lights, so I figured if I was going to replace the underdash harness now is the time to convert to gauges. Since I needed to do the underhood harness too I figured I'd do the engine harness also. Then dirtball offered up his 6cyl tach, so I ordered tins and a printed circuit and harness, I figured while everything was out now was the time to replace the dash pad and defrost duct hoses.
So the truck is getting aligned tomorrow, and I hope after a solid month of working on this thing I can finally enjoy it for a bit before the snow flies and I start another project on it.
The wheels are Wheel Vintiques O.E. chromes in 15x7 and 15x8 with 4 1/2'' of backspace all around with bullet lug nuts. Tires are BFG Radial T/A's in 225/70's and 275/60's. What does everyone think?

It's got ECE 2.5" drop spindles, CPP 3" drop springs in the front, and 6" ECE drop springs and CPP 1.5" drop blocks in the rear. ECE Super Track Bar, and CPP frame notch.

Getting ready to pull it out, I promise! I've been working on the inside and putting all the trim and rear bumper on it, I'm a little behind the schedule I set in my mind.

**Also, this is one of those possessed trucks that doesn't like to be worked on and fights me every step of the way...but I will prevail.

Did you put new or used side trim on it?

Re: Good start to a project...

Okay, I wanted to update this a bit so no one thinks I've been slacking. I took a nice break from working on this thing, it's very easy for me to get burned out since I'm a mechanic by day, but I have been working on it. I didn't like how far the T-5 hung off the factory manual trans crossmember so I used a tubular crossmember from CPP, worked perfectly with a TH350 tranny mount and kept the drivetrain at the proper angle. the sections of rubber hose zip tied to it are to keep the ebrake lines from rattling on it. It is a double egde sword being a mechanic, removing the stock crossmember was easier on a hoist with all the right tools.

Before and after pics.

Re: Good start to a project...

Here it is with all the trim back on. The rear bed piece was mocked up at this point, then removed so I could repaint the black in it. Finally got the trim project wrapped up.
