4x4 SWB rear tires close to bed?

Maybe it's longbeds too, but I noticed(after I freaked a little bit) that the rear end doesnt seem quite centered in the rear wheelwells. Even on stock height trucks I see that the rear is a little forward? I felt a little better after I took a look at pics of trucks like mine and most of them are not centered. Anyone know why Gm did this?

Need to get some of these

Then maybe some of these to level out the truck if the 1' zero rate spacer leaves the rear too high.

Is the purpose so when the spring extends in length (compression) it won't chew the rear of the fender up?

true, when the rear squats it will move backwards, it's also exaggerated more because of your lift and big tires... I noticed the same on my 68 when I put the 33's on it..

Re: 4x4 SWB rear tires close to bed?

On lift kits one of the reasons it moves forward is so the driveshaft will not have to be lengthened.

I trimmed the front of my Jimmys quarters back when. Then when I did the 8 lug swap, moved the axle back 3/4" which centers it perfectly. That also meant that my custom CV rear driveshaft would not have to be shortened which would have been the case if I had not moved the 14 SF rearward.
