Seat replacement question

Hi all. New to the tread and new owner of a 70 blazer. The interior is toast and looking for new front seats. Any thoughts as to which used/takeouts from other cars work well? Not loyal to original equipment.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Seat replacement question

I used a 60/40 from a 98 Silverado extra cab. It worked well because 98 was the last year before the third door, so the seat tilts and slides. I just had to do a little fabrication work to mount it.

Re: Seat replacement question

I used front seats from a 2006 Silverdo, but they don't tilt. You can use 2nd row bucket seats from a similar year Escelade/Suburban/Yukon, they have a tilt mechanism built in. You can also use the folding 3rd row for the rear of the Blazer.

Re: Seat replacement question

If you are looking for a new seat on the cheap I got these seats from Procar.

Here is a link to their website.

Re: Seat replacement question

Depends on the look you want for your truck. The 06 GM large SUVs have an integrated shoulder harness that gives some extra support for your passengers if you're looking for it but will lose that period correct look of the K5.

I was lucky enough to score a set of fronts and a rear out of a 69 in great condition for relatively cheap that I rigged to fit in my 72. In the future I'll look to swap out for the tahoe seats when the clan grows.

Re: Seat replacement question

Thank you all for your help. Looks like I found 2 out of a 98 silverado in great shape. Hopefully will bolt in easy.

Re: Seat replacement question

I bought some seats off Ebay that were out of an Audi and modified the original seat brackets. Really comfortable. But if your good at custom fabrication you could make almost any seat work I'd imagine.

Re: Seat replacement question

For anybody else looking for ideas, Sebring convertible seats have shoulder belts and tilt forward.
