Suburban Woodie??

I'm at a loss for words. I think that is why I don't read Truckin'. I feel bad for that Sub. I kinda did like the look of the rear seating. Why did they have to open the roof like they did?!

I think it's a fine example...... of a look that will appear very dated in only a few short years. I imagine it as seen by those 10 years from now. They'll look at vehicles like this and find them synonymous with "That time period when women wore ridiculously gigantic sunglasses and thought they were stylish", and "Can you believe they thought those big wheels and that funny hiked stance actually went together?"

I think that suburban is hideous, but I really dig the rag top. if I wasn't concerned with wind noise (and noise in general), I'd really considering doing a rag top like in an old Beetle or VW Bus...

Anyone seen any good examples of that?

I agree with the first post, a lot of work went into it. To me it's awesome and I appreciate the time and effort it took. Plus the owner knows it's one of a kind and will never get his money back out of it. good for him for going "out of the box". never know he might become a member of this site.
I remember when my burb was at a local show and shine with the caddy 500 engine in, a couple of "true" chevy fans walked by and said "piece of s#*t, doesn't even have a gm motor in it". That ticked me off because it's my truck, we all know how much time and effort (not to mention money) we put into it. I say if you have nothing nice to say.....keep it to yourself.

All of us burb owners I think already know how it is to be out of the trends of the PU crowd to a degree, and the burb posted by the OP is pretty radical and interesting. He/She just took being a burb lover a few steps further!

Man, I've looked at the photos a couple times... and I just cant convince myself that it is cool. I think the idea could be pulled off, but maybe with a different design.

To each their own... kind of like music genres. I like bluegrass, you may like hip-hop... neither one's good or bad, just different.

I'm really digging that rag top more and more now though... Anyone here aware of a board member that has done that? I see some kits online that don't look bad, but obviously the roof ribs have to be dealt with, and then the headliner...

Very nice work.Not my cup of tea but then I like steppers over fleets especially in the SWB.I also like the old school truck style of the small back window.This truck looks like a lot went into it but if you want a Wagoneer just buy one.

Low with wide whites and a surf board and it would be much more in line with bein a woodie those huge wheels and injector stacks dont fit the theme, none the less sum nice workmanship for sure!

I agree, I think the woodie part could look cool if the rest wasn't overdone.

It's just paint, nothing that can't be easily redone if desired. The roof is really cool.

I like the open roof. Ive looked at those kits and they are kinda neat. Next best thing to having a convertible. Different tires, wheels and stance. Lose the stacks and un-tint the windows and I would drive it for sure. Also put the interior back to stock.

Id like to see it in person to see how good the faux wood looks in person. There is an mid 60's Ford wagon I see running around with the fake wood inserts and fake raised wood trim and it looks great.

sits too low in the rear. i don't like hacked up trucks, but it makes for a VERY unique limousine.....beats the stretch H2's any day!

classic woodies are beautiful when restored. but i'm glad my 86 dodge aries wagon came with the "wood-grain delete" option for a cleaner look. woodies belong to a different era!

I've had thoughts of building a woody from a 67-72 for years. I can really appreciate seeing it done,just wished they stopped there. The rest is someone else's taste of which I can not account for.

Personally,i think the woody/burb looks great!.last time that was done was early 40's.I also think that this is the last of the body styles to do this type of work on.Look at all the station wagons of that era,GM probably had similar thought at the option board for there trucks.Picture that on a later truck.Like everyone said it's about taste/opinion.
