Re: 1969 C30 Camper special longhorn ??

Since someone stole the motor, I would say $600-$800 depending on rust... Also depends on the asking price and what the current owner thinks its worth....

Re: 1969 C30 Camper special longhorn ??

I think thats an awesome truck, great find. I would have to agree those are stabilizer mounts for a camper overhang. I've seen them on the cowls, below the windshield before. I guess a longhorn means you could get a bigger camper, bigger overhang. If it went over the cab all the way to the front marker lights, I would imagine it may need a bit of support.

Found a CL ad tonight for the Longhorn, now ten months later. Sadly it still doesn't have a title.

Re: 1969 C30 Camper special longhorn ??

I just sold a set of 18" Intro wheels (5on5) to a guy with a 1970 short bed.
He stated that his truck is an "original" 1970 short bed 1/2 ton "Camper Special" with leaf springs..
His bed sides are short, but did not mesure to verify if factory shorty, but his bed sides have "3" stake pockets on both sides..
I didn't want to question the guy because he was buying my wheels.. lol
My question is did Chevy/GMC produce this kind of truck from the factory..

Re: 1969 C30 Camper special longhorn ??

The 67-72s were known as Custom Campers and there were C10 packages in the earlier years. Leaf springs were available but not required for the nameplate. The Custom Camper (RPO Z81) option itself was a nameplate only, no cost option that only needed to be ordered when certain minimum equipmet levels were meet.
A shortbed should measure 82.09" overall length and it will have only the front and rear pockets.

It is a C30 Chassis Cab. Only the Fleetside C30 pickups and some C20s were "Longhorns".

From its options it was not a factory platform or stake bed so that was added somewhere along the line. From the options I'd say it was a motorhome later converted to a flatbed. While it has a lot of options for a dually C30 its not too terribly unique. Now if it has the AM/FM factory radio still I'd be impressed.

Re: 1969 C30 Camper special longhorn ??

That longhorn looks real solid. There used to be a custom camper that sat at the end of my street. Was a BB truck with AC,the old guy who had it would never sell but the truck was parked on concrete drive and was started regularly etc. I would tell the guy all the time that I'd love to own it if it was ever for sale.

One day he up and died and the truck was just towed away never to be seen again. . Good luck with your resto

Did any 1969 C30 Monterey Motorhomes have a 165" wheelbase?
