Site not secure?

Anyone else having any issues? I have had this for about a week now. Shows as not secure and says not to post sensitive info. Also have problems posting sometimes. It won't allow me to type anything. Still on my old desktop... Thanks.

Posting a pic to see if that works....

Re: Site not secure?

I get the 'Not secure' message on Chrome but I don't see it on Firefox. Have not been unable to type or post anything on either browser.

Go up to the location window at the very top of the page. (where it says http://) Click to insert the cursor at the end of the http. If the entire line turns Blue click in the same spot again and the Blue should go away. Type the letter s in behind the http so it looks like this https:// Hit the enter key and it will re-load the page. See if you still get the message.

I am not getting it with the FireFox or SeaMonkey browsers.

I can't get Firefox or Chrome to open a SSL ( https ) connection to the site. Even the login page passes the password in plain text back to the server for validation!

Not sure whether it's ever been SSL enabled though as I've never noticed before. Doesn't really bother me too much here.

Is it ever secure to post sensitive info online?

This song comes to mind. Not all the words. It's chorus states the reason I don't bank online or put my sensitive info online. It comes to mind in situations where nothing but 100% will cut it. Info online is never 100% secure... never. 99 1/2% just won't do

Have you browser (s) clear their SSL cache state. They are trying to log in with an old style. Also Make sure your browser is the latest version.

Who posts sensitive info on a public forum anyway? You might pm a mailing address to somebody for a parts sale, but even an address is public info. And I am not aware of any payment methods in use that would require any sensitive info to be entered here.

Re: Site not secure?

Tim I think most of us get the same message. I asked about it a couple of years ago and was told the site is safe.
By clicking on the site not secure it displays that message.

I only noticed the "Site Not Secure" message recently. I decided to try to fix and found this thread in my search.

Re: Site not secure?

Very possible that you had either a recent OS or browser update. Both are getting more proactive in notifying about plain http on websites. I chased this a little bit and with Firefox, under the security shield, I clicked Connection, the little right arrow, More Information(at the bottom), and the Media icon. Got a list of images the website is using. A few are still plain http instead of https. This could be the problem.

Browsers are not always good about telling the difference between a real risk and a very minor issue. They just flag anything still http as bad and raise the Not Secure flag.

I don't have any issues logging in, but about 1/2 the time if i respond to a thread or PM i won't get the flashing bar (not sure of the technical term) that shows where your words end up. Sometimes if i try 10 mins later it may work. Hope that didn't confuse you...
I should add, it will open the page i need, i just can't add any words anywhere.

I've had the same thing happen multiple times with PMs. I usually just hit the refresh button and that takes care of it. Sometime, I just have to go back to the PM page and click the PM I want to respond to again

Check the site logs...

I just attempted to log in running Chrome. The bogus/wrong password I typed in was passed from my keyboard IN PLAIN TEXT across the internet to the site hosting 67-72chevytrucks.com.

No doubt about it.
