Smile I'm new here.

Hello guys and gals.I just joined the furom here. And wanted to give a little background about my 67-72 truck experince.

First off I am 17.I got my 67 c-10 last december. My father passed away on the 19th of december. And my cousin gave me my 67 I guess to have something to do to keep my mind off of things.Since then I have done alot of work to it.Still isn't on the road.Or even decent looking for that matter.

I bought my 69 less than a month ago.Since then I have done alot of things.I added an HEI,edelbrock performer RPM intake, edelbrock 600cfm electric choke carb,Comp cams 270h cam, comp cams lifters and double roller timing chain.I have done some other things also.It runs alot better now than with the 2 barrel and factory cam.It also has dual exhaust.Planning on headers soon.Maybe some heads. But it is fast enough the way it is.

Here is a couple of pics. The first one is off my 69 right before I bought it.

Hi C-tenKid! Welcome to the board. Sorry to hear about your dad. Trucks can be very therapeutic (sp?) in many ways. So get out there and get to work on the '67! You'll get plenty of ideas for it here, trust me!

Welcome, sorry to hear about your dad, actually my story is a lot like yours, i lost my brother, and dove right into my 72 to keep my mind off of it. It really helped me out and i have a strange "connection" with this truck now. Keep us posted on your trucks as every one on here is like a group of buddies who will always help you out with your problems either with your trucks or your life.

Thanks for all the the replies.

As for the cam.I love it.I have the idle set a little high right now.Because if you are at a stoplight it dies when you are rolling up to it.As for the stall. It is only as high as my foot lets it be.My truck has a 3 on tree.As for power.I love it.With the edelbrock intake and carb.Along with the cam and HEI.It runs pretty strong.A little less low-end than with the stock cam.(Of course that can be expected with any cam with more duration)But once you get up in the revs it takes off.I haven't raced anything yet.But I am pretty sure I wont have a problem with my buddies 4 cylinder cars anymore. After I get some headers I should be done with the motor.I think the rear gears are kind of low.3:73 maybe. It doesn't have a posi though. It needs it now!

The HEI is a stock GM with an msd coil.

As for the 67 I am thinking either a big block or 383.Right now I have a good 350 4 bolt main from a 79 chevy truck.I am going build it am little more radical than the 350 in my 69.And learn how to set the rest of the truck up.I plan on it being for the strip only.
