Post SCORE!!!!.....Truck Rallys

Got a question or two........Did the early truck rallys have the center cap that screwed through the front of the wheel or the back?

I just got back from Norwalk (raceway park). They are having there swap/test and tune this weekend. I picked up a set of 15X7 rallys with caps and rings for $50. I wanted 15X8's and there was a guy there that had a set with caps but no rings......he wanted $100 for the set. I figured that I could settle for the narrower rim for the price.

I like them silver,or light colors as that tends to show the centers better. I have also seen them painted body color,& think that looks nice as long as the paint color isnt too dark a shade. All in all,its a matter of preferance,or the owners personal taste........69 longhorn.

Sorry.....I should have said that I want to paint them the stock color. I would assume that a satin(?) silver should be about right.....?

Do you ever get pulled over for having your spare block the tail light like that?

Eastwood has wheel paint in the correct silver. I think it is called argent silver, but whatever it is, Eastwood has it. I repainted mine using store bought spray paint and it is almost exactly the same color, just a little lighter. Once they get a little dirty, you can't tell they aren't the right color.

I would've paid $100 for the 8" if I hadn't seen the 7 inchers.

I was thinking about selling two of the 7's and finding two 8's. Put the 7 on the front and 8 on the back.

Will the newer style center caps (the ones that screw from the front) fit the older rallys?

You can also get "dull aluminum" in a spray bomb that is pretty close to the original color.

It isn't the origanal argent color, but I liked this better because it has mica in it. You can get it done in argent though. WES www.classicHeartbeat.com
