Porterbuilt Direct

Through Porterbuilt Direct, we will be expanding our product line, and offering these products to forum members at a discounted price, but with the same quality Porterbuilt customer service! We will also begin running "monthly specials" on select Porterbuilt products. Let us know if there are any specials you would like to see and we will see what we can do!

Thanks,
- Porterbuilt Direct

We will have our first special up shortly in the vendor market place!

Cool deal.
Do you have a "Porterbuilt Direct" specific website?

Is nate stepping back and letting someone else handle the marketing while he just builds?

No plans to have a "Porterbuilt Direct" website at this time. But I am working on revamping my old one, and I do not plan on having the Porterbuilt Fabrication Forum be my main site for too much longer. =)

The main purpose of "Porterbuilt Direct" is to push specials on the forums and assist me with the internet marketing... It's just a snazzy username. It will also allow us to push more of the product that we don't manufacture... which I have not yet done.

This year we will also begin marketing Porterbuilt parts in magazines and we will even be hitting the show circuit soon.

You are correct. I have another individual helping me handle the internet marketing and specials through "Porterbuilt Direct". We work together to decide the specials and the price points, and he runs with it and does the leg work. He isn't new to industry, but he is new to Porterbuilt... so be nice to him!

I still spend the mornings getting dirty on new product R&D and working on some of the existing projects. Then after 2pm my time I return phone calls e-mails, and text mesages, and make sure I answer questions on the forums. It's been super busy and although I have been doing a good job on the tech questions and replying to messages... I didn't have the time to really market the products on-line like I wanted to.

Let me know if there are any more questions!

Nate

Re: Porterbuilt Direct

So is the name "Porterbuilt Street Rods" coming back to the fore front?
(stickers, hats, and tees?)
I'm still looking for a "Porterbuilt" hat for my bald head. Ha.

Here's a simple breakdown of how the structure will look once all pieces are in place:

Porterbuilt Street Rods (street applications)
Porterbuilt Off-Road (pretty self-explainatory)
Porterbuilt Fabrication (forum)

We will have some swag here shortly as well.

Re: Porterbuilt Direct

I know that so far Im thrilled with my PB stuff and am awaiting my next shipment.....come on UPS!!! I text Nate all the time and call often, Im a pest. I did expect that with the popularity of these products to see a Facebook page, hats/stickers/shirts and the associated stuff. I do not own my own business but I am in the works to start one so I know advertising is king. I would buy stickers and shirts all day, and direct friends to the Facebook page if one existed. I like to see companies succeed that offer great products or services and hope that PB can step forward and offer advertising swag soon.

Catch me on PB forums as "lunchbox" or as Nate knows me, kris the cop in ohio.

Re: Porterbuilt Direct

Personally, I would like to see a special on hood hinges. Regular and gas assist styles.

Our trucks equipped with Dropmembers are advertising on their own, but walking around the shows with a t-shirt would be cool too!

Re: Porterbuilt Direct

If you need any tips with your site, let me know. I've been building shopping carts as a side business for about 7 years now.

Also, does your Dropmember utilize C4 Corvette front suspension components? I have an '84 that I kept the suspension components and cross members from and am interested in putting that suspension on my truck. I remember seeing something somewhere on here regarding that.

The current Dropmember C4 is designed to use the 88-96 C4 components, however I am currently building one for a customer to utilize his 84-87 components.

Re: Porterbuilt Direct

Sweet. What's that kit going to run? I'm pretty interested. My steering box is pretty shot (lots of play) so I'd like to start investigating a replacement system. I want to go IRS, too. Not trying to lay frame but would definitely like to get a nice lowered stance (either static or bagged). It's a daily driver truck so I don't want to go too extreme.

Thanks,
Colin

Re: Porterbuilt Direct

Nate, not to blaspheme in this forum, but has anyone thought to make a crossmember kit to IFS the 67-94 fords? We were discussing that over the weekend at a show, that's a hell of an overlooked market for some perfectly good trucks that no one builds due to the twin beams. If someone could do a budget minded kit that used common arms, spindles, and springs, I think it'd be a hit. I could be wrong, just a thought.

I have built one before.... I used the later model F150 spindles... it worked pretty nice. There has been a lot of discussion about making a production unit. The "To Do" list is pretty long right now, but definitely something I have thought about. I actually have one of those trucks in my stock pile.

Re: Porterbuilt Direct

I know I'm waaaay out on the East Coast but I do have some connections with professional Graphic Design, freehand renderings, t-shirts, just general printing and advertising. If you need anything in that realm I will even swap for parts. Just throwing it out there .. Dad is a commercial artist, has 30+ yrs experience, has the equipment to do just about anything you'd want. If you want a connection in the SE area, PM me and we can discuss. (??) I can send samples of his work.

And in the not to distant future he will be building one for me!

On that note, I have been driving the C4 (is a '94) all weekend. This thing is a blast to drive! Now I know my truck is 2x the weight and not nearly as well balanced as the Vette, but how much better is my truck going to drive compared to a standard dropmember?

The Corvette parts fit into my theme and I know there are performance advantages, but hows it drive?

Scoti has one, right?
