I will not waste my time taking a picture of the glove box because you would not believe anyway and would say that i removed it. You are welcome to come and see the truck yourself and i can discuss it personally with you.

I really want you to have a good experience in these forums, but it's posts like this that keep people replying the way they do to you.
Having a 1965 shop manual along with a 66 shop manual doesn't prove anything.
But that's okay, you can go with that. There is nothing wrong with believing what you do. We can all say; 'Great! that is so cool that you have a Factory1965-1/2 vin# 6Z126582 c144 - With a L79 66 Corvette Engine with a Roller Cam.'

Too bad you threw away or destroyed the documentation or anything that could really prove it. We can believe your word, but that's the only thing you've given us.
Again, feel good about your Factory 1965-1/2 vin# 6Z126582 c144 - With a factory L79 66 Corvette Engine with a Roller Cam.'

Actually, you did get answers. Lots of them. You just don't want to accept that you have a 1966 truck with a regular 327.

lol, post the VIN for that 1999 1/2 so we can tell you what year it actually is.

Little more info on when your truck was built that may help. With the help of another member " yelmer " who has the records of when , what month and close to the day, these trucks were built for any 1966 . Your truck was built in December of 1965 , middle of the month . I have a 1966 with a slightly earlier VIN , an early December built truck from the same Fremont California truck plant yours was built. It has the Spid sheet , protecto plate etc and is titled and always was titled as a 1966. Hope this helps .

Salty, as a Chevrolet parts counter guy, I'm sure you realize full well that Chevrolet occasionally produced service manuals at intervals with supplements in the in-between years - and that that fact has absolutely nothing to do with the year of manufacture of your truck(?). There is no connection between that comment and the existence of a 65 1/2 theory. The fact that you have the 66 supplement kind of implies that someone, at some point, thought this was a 66...

You are right - a picture of a blank glovebox door wouldn't prove anything other than it's a 65 (if there never was a SPID) or the sticker was removed (if a 66). So, is there now or was there ever a SPID present? I'm just not trackin...

This is a WARNING to all, keep things civil. Whether there is truth or not, name calling and general abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

If you don't have something constructive to add or a friendly comment, just move on. Many of you are bordering on bashing and will get you a suspension.

If you don't ever find actual tangible proof, you'll have to just believe what you want.
