Sanding epoxy?
Last sunday i got way to close to upper end of my reducer limit and ended up with massive orange peel on my 2 part epoxy primer. Gotta sand it all down to smooth before i go any further. Temps have been in the upper 80's to lower 90's since then. I tried to sand some this afternoon and i get gummy balls that plug up the sand paper yet. I think it just needs more time to finish cureing out. How long should it take before i can sand this? Thinking it might be 7-10 days, any body got any thoughts? Thanks

What brand of epoxy? What does the tech sheet for that brand of epoxy say for cure times and sanding? Each brand of epoxy is a little different from another.

What grit paper are you using?...I had to hit some of my bad spots with 80g and then follow with 180g...then 360g...

The epoxy is crossfire cp400, i think it will get hard in time it seems pretty soft yet yesterday, will try it again sunday, that will be a week. Tech sheet doesnt say anything about sanding

Put it in the sun for a day, that will speed it up.

If you laid it on thick it will take longer to cure as well. The sun definitely helps cure quicker.

And you can scuff it with sandpaper and THEN put it out in the sun. This can make a huge difference in fully curing as it allows possibly trapped solvents to flash off.
