Amateur 1970 C20 Longhorn Build

Hi everybody! I've never posted on one forum before but I am in need of help building my truck. It's a 1970 C20 Longhorn 350 4 bolt with and SM465 Tranny and HO72 rearend. I bought this truck the the body in primer and the frame painted. Everything was there but was all in boxes, so what I need is help figuring out the parts I don't know and where everything goes. Will be posting pics soon. Hopefully I'm doing this right on here.

The unknown pics are, Air cleaner spacer [goes between carb and breather], Next is the pedal pivot pieces then the next two are clutch bell crank stuff. The pics with the curly que looking spring goes on the right had side behind the seat it is the jack or lug wrench spring [holds it in place]. Now I'm going off memory and starting to forget witch order the last pics are in but I think the next was a slash shield [gravel shield] goes in the bed behind the wheel humps underneath the bed.

The flat square tabs hold the gas tank firmly in place the valve may be a diverter if the truck had two gas tanks at some point or maybe a butane burner system. The round washers goes into the bed wood that holds the bed on the truck and the round black "biscuits" are cab or core support mounts.

The rectangular plates with the single hole hold the fuel tank in place. You should have a 5/16 bolt for each one of them. The bolts will have a pointed end and a built in washer that has serrations on the underneath side.... A couple of the plates are circled in the picture.

Re: Amateur 1970 C20 Longhorn Build

Thanks everyone for the helpful info so far. I'm sure I'll be needing more help as the build progresses. I'm only 22 and don't have very much experience with older vehicles. Hopefully I'll get it running sometime the end of next month. Also where do you guys get those prints/schematics? I have a book that red on the front with about 1000 pages abound I didn't see any of those.

If your book is the Truck Assembly Manual that is where the scans came from. I have the CD version and you can actually do a search in it for key words. That makes it really easy to find stuff in it....

Sadly not yet. Cab is jet black with black holographic metal flake. Inside is championship white with white rustoleum marine epoxy paint. Got drivers door done as well. Not a lot of time and small budget lol. Typical project.

What are these two parts? I assume the line is part of the fuel system.

Re: Amateur 1970 C20 Longhorn Build

Top picture is the power steering return hose, lower pic is for the air cleaner assy--hot air tube from the exhaust manifold

AND being a 3/4 ton the rear axle you have is most likely an HO52 not a 72
