72 c20 lowering

So I'm picking up a c20 and would like to lower it. The plan is to use 73-87 parts with all new bushings and lowering springs. I don't want to go super low, maybe just a few inches. Am I going to run into any issues with it being a c20? I don't remember when I looked at it last, but my friend I'm getting it from, claimed it's a truck arm and coil arrangement in the rear.

Re: 72 c20 lowering

A 72 would have disc brakes up front.
Why not rebuild it with 72 parts?
The lowering springs for the front are the same.

Re: 72 c20 lowering

Early Classic Enterprises offers 3/4 ton drop spindles. Personally, I would go that route plus springs if you want lower than 2 1/2" that way over the years or if you ever sell, the new owner can just order the appropriate parts for the year truck with no confusion.

I could have sworn this one had drums in the front. I would also like to go with the smaller hubs for wheel selection. I'll double check. If it does have discs in the front I'll keep them and just change hubs.

Just change hubs?
Are you wanting to get rid of the 8-lug pattern of the C20?
Convert it to a c10?
I didn't get that out of your first post.

Correct. I perhaps should have stated that in my initial post. I traded a car for it and wanted a c10, no need for a 3/4 as I already have a diesel pickup.

Basically my plan is to make a nice riding c10 that I can daily. I have a few gen 3 gm's sitting around that will eventually make its way into it.

Member Mike C has the simple answer.
Use the ECE conversion spindles to allow you to swap to 1/2-ton rotors.
Otherwise you are changing balljoints, outer tie rods and lower control arms.

Re: 72 c20 lowering

Update: finally got it in my possession, and it's a 1970, not a 1972, which explains why it doesn't have disc fronts.
