Power steering install issues - help please

Hi all, we're now at the end of our P/S install, on load the whole reservoir is twisting causing the belt to slip and squeal.

Do we need a bar and bolts to bolt to the front and to the engine somewhere to stop it twisting and brace it properly or have we fitted it wrong ?

any help would be awesome as this is the last piece of the puzzle

Cheers

Looks like you have part of a power steering bracket there, you might be missing a piece. Maybe, I dont know, just me.

Those brackets are for a small block with the short water pump. I believe the OP has a long pump.......it's a little hard to tell in the pics.

It appears that you have the long water pump on your small block. With the long pump, the power steering pump mounts in part off of the boss on the lower drivers side of the ;pump. There are 2 or 3 different variations of the correct brackets. One of those is what The Rocknrod posted. Does that boss have threads or is it a smooth bore?

Re: Power steering install issues - help please

It is a little hard to tell in the pic but to me it looks like a butchered long water pump bracket.

Re: Power steering install issues - help please

Yeah that's a short pump, no boss for a long pump brkt to swing on. He has a FUBAR of parts & only one belt. It has to travel to the right side & hang the alt pulley over there.
I think we will have to source a complete system for him & send over there.
I spent two weeks in England & didn't see the 1st salvage yard. That's just plain Wrong!
