Fuel Check Valve
If I have a SBC Carbureted with a mechanical fuel pump I shouldn't need a fuel check valve right? The fuel pump acts as a check valve if it's working properly?

Re: Fuel Check Valve
Fuel pump should have two check valves. One on the inlet, one on the outlet.
You don’t need another one. |

Re: Fuel Check Valve
Thank you for verifying that. I have a friend who installed a check valve (plastic) thinks he needs a check valve as he's loosing fuel (according to him) and it starts right up now that he has a check valve. I told him he has a fuel pump problem, but what do I know?

The inlet valve in the pump will go 'the other way' if the pressure exceeds a certain threshold so as to prevent fluid lock. According to my new youtube education anyways LOL -klb
