What to wear to prom?

I have prom next Saturday, its is only about 50 people. I dont have a date and I dont have the money for a tux. What should I wear? Now, mind you I could care less about getting a girl, etc. I am also the fun and crazy guy. Please only at least somewhat practical ideas.

School mascot costume? (jk). I'd think a nice blazer, shirt & tie would be fine.

Rent a dark suit? That's what I did when I got married.

Re: What to wear to prom?

I'm with big al, bradley. Just wear some trousers, or even decent dockers. I dunno about long sleeve in the heat, but a button down shirt (not western shirt and maybe even a tie. IMHO your height and goofball attitude should be in black. Black pants n black or charcoal button down shirt. Besides with your accent and dark dress clothes, they would all be scared to screw with ya

ie 100 at Kohls and your good to go.

A blue leisure suit and an afro wig. That'll get the party started

Re: What to wear to prom?

Ask a girl to go with you and tell her money is tight and who knows, you might have an enjoyable evening anyway.

You only get this one chance in life and the most any girl can say is no and besides she may not even have a date either.

Let us know what happens here.

I agree....but why be typically...I was thinking the tee-shirt that looks like a tux is a good deal!!!

Seriuosly though Bradley...if you want to wear a tux....go get one...I'll help you with the rental fee....but you must post pictures of you in it next to your favorite girl (truck)!!!

Re: What to wear to prom?

If it were me and there was not a girl involved then I be hard pressed into even going.

Buuuuut if you ARE going to HAVE FUN there anyway then I'd wear whatever I'd be comfortable in realizing that others (if it's a typical prom) are going to be dressed to the nines. So go wearing whatever your comfortable in that situation.

Me I feel goofy being dressed casual at a formal event. I'd be wearing dockers or slacks and a nice button up, have a blazer and/or tie available. You don't have to wear a tie with a decent dress shirt & blazer, and you can always ditch the jacket later. My .02

Re: What to wear to prom?

I never went to mine. Don't regret it one bit, but I hated all the jackasses in my school anyway (VERY small class.)

If you ain't too proud... sometimes the salvation army has some really nice stuff. It's really hit and miss, but a friend of mine was tight on cash and was able to piece together a decent suit for interviews.

Re: What to wear to prom?

Thanks guys, I think I'm going with the tux shirt. Its gonna be schweet.

Also, I know most people think that prom is special and all that jazz, but to me its just a Saturday night. Plus, I don't see the point in having a date if she isn't your girlfriend.

Re: What to wear to prom?

I know where you can find a date. but she will need a dress and some air, be carefull with the corsage. she will follow your lead when dancing and when you decide to dance with another girl she will patiently wait in the corner. LOL

OK, I am not the best source of advice but I try to have fun. you do the same.

Re: What to wear to prom?

Ok, change of plans. I just found out the theme is "Hollywood Premiere Night". Black, silver, and white is what the coordinator said. Any ideas along those lines?

Re: What to wear to prom?

Wear what you can dance in.
A tux is not the most comfortable thing to spend an evening wearing.
Here's what my boy wore to his senior prom.
Makes me look like a backwoods hick.

Re: What to wear to prom?

I wore slacks a pearl snapped shirt, Dad's old black dress boots with "The heel from hell" and my stetson. Even showed up in Dad's peterbilt. She threw a fit, but I told her we'd take something a little nicer next year.
