T Case Bracket different 205 vs rockwell

Just discovered my NP205 is actually a rockwell. I plan on swapping in a 205 but the question is:

Is this a bolt in swap or am I gonna need to change x-member and/or braces to accomadate the 205?

Pretty sure there is a difference in the width of the adapter between the trans and the Tcase, the 205 set up I think will cause you to relocate the cross member and modify the drive shafts?

Sure someone more experienced in this will chime in eventually.

I "think" that the crossmember is the same but you will need to find a NP205 with the trans adapter attached. Driveshafts are also different. Holes in the floor hump are different as well.

Why change if it works?

I agree, if the rockwell works, why go through the trouble of changing. I was going to change to a 205, but it wasnt worth the hassle, I ended up staying with the 221, its a good tcase, just hard to find parts for. My suggestion is run it til it pukes then do a swap.

You will need a new/different cross member, and to shorten your rear drive shaft. The front one might be OK, I had both fronts when I made the change, and don't remember which I used.
