Re: Your Truck Plans for 2012

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Let me start by saying thank you to all the fellow board members who have been an inspiration and a huge help to me!! As for the truck first thing on the list is to swap in a non knocking straight six and then the manual to 700r4 trans conversion. Then onto the bags.......

Re: Your Truck Plans for 2012

Thank all of you guys, I guess I'm still a newb but alot of you have answered my majority of newb questions, I'm waiting on a shed, with the arrival of the comes a clean cab aka clean bench, same old rusty cab but a place to sit none the less and maybe unload the bed some, hopefully start driving it around my yard, deffinately gotta move it before the shed is put in place, i have a offenhauser dual plane intake, been lookin for a good 650 cfm carb with electric choke and vaccum secondaries but now I really just wanna put the offy on a shelf and hunt down a tripower intake, the old girl is sporting a Pontiac 350

Take it to the Brothers Show and Shine, and actually make it back home this time.

Re: Your Truck Plans for 2012

this year it gets narrow rear end and some 15x12's, some cold A/C and swapping over to a 700r4 and a good stall. That will make her complete.........

Re: Your Truck Plans for 2012

Hopefully, I will need at least two oil changes in 2012.

Going to get out the tube bender and make some rocker bars/steps. Maybe bend up a roll bar. Lots of wet sanding/ polishing.

Mostly drive it, and take tons of pics. I would like to make an album of the truck, with ghost towns, old gas stations, bridges, river, snow, ect.

Re: Your Truck Plans for 2012

Happy New Year to all the awesome folks on this board...I've learned so much from alot of great people!
Hopefully, 2012 will be a bit more productive than 2011 was. Here are the goals;

1. Finish cab repairs
2. Graft in Chevy II dash
3. Blow apart bed & Repair small floor sections
4. Finish shaving firewall
5. Install rear 4-link w/ bags

If I can get these things done in the next 12-months I'll feel pretty good. Of course if my $$$ situation changes for the better (hopefully) I'd like to get more done.

Best Wishes to all of you in 2012!

Re: Your Truck Plans for 2012

It all depends, I have to get my 37 going first because it has been sitting for way to long. Before I start any work on the 68, I need to get something else to drive, preferably a 01-07 Duramax, and then I can start the rust repair on my Longhorn which may turn into a full blown restoration.

Re: Your Truck Plans for 2012

Get mine running and on the road.

Last things I need to have it road worthy are a Carburetor (due here Jan 5th), and get the electical all working (what a mess that is). Should have the electrical GTG tomorrow, and be able to take the truck for a test spin at least this coming Sunday.

Later in the year are:

New tires (matching set)
New springs
New shocks

Keep it on the road.

Smile Re: Your Truck Plans for 2012

Plans for the '72/Blue are as follows:
-Install my new Grill Surround and 'Eggcrate' Insert (going to look great)
......then sell my existing one (very nice condition)
-Install a couple of new pieces of lower wide/wg trim I bought
-Install a new heater core and while I have the dash area apart install a new centre chrome dash unit.
-Install my side mount spare bracket (not sure whether to go near the cab or near the tailgate yet)
-Finish detailing under the hood (fenders and rad support, etc)
Ok...thats simply the 'kick-off' list...ask me again in 3 months.
A hearty hello and Happy New Year to all of you as well from the Pacific N.West!!
