Re: Frankenstein Is Back To Street Legal....

I'll take pics of it tomorrow and post for you.....I still have the splitter valve next to the seat if you need it...

see the hole on the drivers side of the bed? On the inside of the bed was a squared enclosure around the tube. It just went straight down to the aux tank.

Re: Frankenstein Is Back To Street Legal....

JUST TO BE CLEAR!!!!.........I'M NOT SELLING FRANKENSTEIN....

- NP 205 (1980 style with flange front output shaft)
- 8 leaf stack of rear leafs with ORD 4" shackle flip kit
- 4" front leafs

Have receipts on engine totaling $4500.00
- engine cross member off 1980 truck...moves engine forward for clearance)
- HEI dist
- 16.5 X 9.75 slots
- 32 X 12 HAWGS...(half tread left)
- 72 C20 body...no AC......needs body work and paint
- 4 bolt mark IV 454 block
- TRW L2348F forged closed chamber 11:1 pistons
- Isky .510 lift cam 540 dur @ .050 Hyd

Truck is very streetable, but likes to be above 4000 RPM up to a 6500 redline. Runs fine on 91 octane at 6000 feet elev. Wouldn't go below 91, and would be a good idea to use 100 Av gas, or booster below 5000 feet elevation.

Just a ball park number would be cool to know.....

D.eater,
I live east of Des Moines, NM. We should meet up and try out the new off-road park on Raton Pass sometime. Your truck looks great--I would like to take a look sometime.

Re: Frankenstein Is Back To Street Legal....

Hey D.Eater, I know you have used the truck in the past for pulling and I'm wondering why your front is open. I have been playing with using mine in the local pulls around here, only 4X a year. I'v made a draw bar that connects just behind the cab on the frame and runs to the back. It is adjustable up and down from 26"s and i'v made brackets that mount the springs solid to the frame in the rear. I have front and back locked. Is that not what I need. like I said your front is open. Or did you open it up for the street. Any tips you have would be appreciated.
Thanks

jrdv....I did not know about the park!!!! Call me anytime on my cell phone at 719 859-3898.....we'll get together.

As far as the open diff.......I never got that far with this truck and pulling to go all the way. I pulled in Modified Street class since 2006. In 2008 I made the jump to Pro-Stock, and will have to compete with REAL pulling trucks. SO yes I will be locking up my front diff. Go to this site to learn all about pulling from some pro's.......I visit this site multiple times daily...

I'm not sure if it is open yet. I read on another forum that the owner of Superlift Offroad Park in Arkansas bought some land on the pass and has plans to open a new park. I may call you next time I go to Trinidad. Where do you work? I ranch east of DM.

Off road park? Raton???? Do chime in when more info is available! That's 100 miles from me and 90% downhill! I'd wheel down there more if there was someplace to go!

DieselEater, you'll need to bring that 500 Hp bad boy up to Pueblo. Looks like it might be good throwing some snow in the wet mountains near Westcliffe.

What? Off-road park? Where?....Here?.........In CO?…. WTF….are you guys turning gay or what? This is Colorado….we don’t have “Off-road parks” here. Off-road parks are for people that live in Indiana, Michigan and other terrible places. Of course, you said Raton…..Raton as in New Mexico. The Land of Entrapment….of course. Yea…I spent a night in jail in NM not that I hold a grudge or anything.

You and I pay taxes on thousands of miles of national forest roads to play on that comply with tread lightly regulations……why the heck does someone need a friggen PARK to wheel in other than to give those tourists from Texas a place to go???

Zoomad….your going alone on that trip. I am not going to some “park” 90 miles away in Raton to wheel. I dated a hot little latina chick from Raton in college…she was crazy too. This whole "park" thing was probably her idea to get back to me somehow.

Re: Frankenstein Is Back To Street Legal....

At an offroad park you can "tear-it-up" and don`t have to tread lightly.Like the old days on BLM land.

Re: Frankenstein Is Back To Street Legal....

Yeah....from what I hear, they'll have mud bog pits....HUGE hill trails rated 1 to 10, and made to be easy and hard....Truck and tractor pulling area...dirt bike trails, etc......

I agree about the National Forest stuff, but, that's a lot of travel, and expense if you break in the middle of Blanca Peak!!!!!! When I wheel, I don't hold back!!!! I have a lot of POWER, and have built a drive train to handle it! That means that I'm gonna use it! If I do happen to break, I want to be where there is a dozer to pull me out and get me where I can work on it.

The difference would be:

Trail Driving......jeeps

and ALL OUT CARNAGE!!!!!!!!!!.......FRANKENSTEIN!!!

Sounds like you need to be runnin' some bigger tires then...

Maybe even try something other than mud.
