Suggestions please. Valve cover mod

I bought this Mercruiser valve cover from member Brad54. I'm planning to paint it black and orange and I'd like to add this 292 emblem to it. I don't really want to drill holes in it and I don't like the idea of retainers on the inside of the cover so I'm thinking about just cutting the studs off and gluing it on with JB weld. Any thoughts on whether this will work? Better ideas? Thanks.

I’d try 3M double sided tape.

JB weld is great stuff. Heavy scuff. I would use sharp point and score both emblem and under where it mounts, teaspoon of JB weld will hold it...you may want to put tape around it, JB weld seems to run a little when you look away.

If you never want to take it off again, JB Weld is the way to go. Double-sided tape gives you an option for removal.

I would do both...don't cut off the studs, drill holes (measure 3 times then drill) and then JB Weld it on the outside and inside the cover. Either way you go it will look good.
