Key Me In
My son lost the keys to our '70 3/4 ton. What are my options? Can I pull a keyed component and have a key made? Are there cylinder sets for the ignition, doors, and storage compartment? Do all keyed components have to be replaced? Thanks for the help.

If I were in your situation, I would remove a door lock (only if you are sure they all matched) and take it into your local locksmith. They are able to look up the stamped code on the lock body and then make you another key, I recently had to do this and cost was around $25.

Or if the locks are 40 years old and worn you may want to get a lock set from a vendor.The two doors and ignition are the same key.The Glovebox lock is different.

my locksmith makes keys by hand on site without removing anything. using one blank, one sharpie, and three very small files takes him one hour give or take and charges me twenty five dollars.

well i have backup keys&cylinder sets for ignition but i would have a key&lock guy come too your house
