`68 Panel:Crappy Pics

I wanted pictures of this`68 Panel from my local funeral parlor for a long time. They had it sitting out to do work inside the garage and I asked if I could snap off a few. This was before my camera walked off and I think it was just a dirty lense. We lost the memory card for a long time, then I thought she erased them w/o saving. It turns out I have put them on a disc. So,here they are.I`d like to go ask to take more some day and have them pull it out:

Darn! They look worse upon the screen. You can tell how nice it is.But,these will have to serve as teasers.I would delete this, but I may not get a chance to get more pictures for awhile.

Re: `68 Panel:Crappy Pics

That's a very nice looking ride.

Is it still, ummm, used?? Or is it a former hearse that's been restored?

That's one truck I'd never want to ride in, well, at least in the back.....

Re: `68 Panel:Crappy Pics

That is a really sweet panel--need some new pics though! Looks like it probably was (or is) their "first call" vehicle--one that is sent to pick up a recently deceased person from a hospital or residence and bring them to the funeral home. This saves wear and tear on the much more expensive formal hearses.

Re: `68 Panel:Crappy Pics

I had just put batteries in the camera,go figure.I think it won`t focus with a dirty lense. This panel is real close to me.The parlor is next to my son`s high school.Bill,I guess there`s two between us.I had a`69 truck this color,"special paint".It is a transport vehicle with no rollers or fasteners in the floor. It`s a CST with a 6 cyl,3spd,and no a/c.The owner cherishes it and there`s a real nice garage built for it.He was using the garage to do some woodworking and had the panel sitting out for a week or so last summer.I will get back for more shots. They have a silver Escalade they use, now. They should do a custom panel treatment on that one. They are an all GM business, for sure.

Re: `68 Panel:Crappy Pics

Yes, there must be 2, they don't use this one much anymore, they used it for a flower van I think, not a hearse.

Re: `68 Panel:Crappy Pics

You know? This one must have been used for flowers, too.I was wondering how they tied a casket down.
