I have a steel I-beam running the width of my garage, which limits my height. If I remember right, it is around 10' 6". As you can see, I can still fit a car on top and a car on bottom, but they are relatively low cars to begin with.

The lift was made by a company in Wichita, KS, called "All American Lifts". Unfortunately, they are out of business now. I bought the lift because of the superior lock/post design and the fact they were American made. I'm sad that they went out of business.
