Photoshop my 1968 to 2 tone please

Hi all, my truck has been completed in its present state for just over 10 years. I am really liking the 2 tone anniversary 1968 color scheme. This is obviously a bright yellow compared to the standard gold.
Would somebody mind adding the lower and upper cab off white scheme to my truck? I like it the way it is but I do need to do some touch up on the lower part area anyway and thought I might change it up at some point. This is a pearl paint so i am afraid a touchup might not work so well.
Thanks for your thoughts and input.
Dave

Also if this is a bad angle I can get another or 2.

Hi Dave
I can't help with the photoshopping but I think your truck looks good as is although a white top and bottom would help to tone down the brightness of all that yellow. It'll look great either way.

Re: Photoshop my 1968 to 2 tone please

I really like the white+?? two-tone trucks, except for one problem. White shows road grunge and mud splatters way too easy.

Of course, your truck probably doesn't have that problem in the same way that daily driver 4wd's do!

Re: Photoshop my 1968 to 2 tone please

Thanks guys, I do like this yellow I picked out. It is kinda hard to tell much from the pictures but it is a very bright yellow (no kidding) with some sunset pearl in the clear coat. A few years back (10 years) the yellows weren't quite a prevalent. Now I see a few more. I can do this myself so I am giving it some thought.
I do drive this truck quite a bit. I enjoy taking it on the longer trips and all so it does see its fair share of grit and grime. I wasn't sure how the lighter color would show the dirt it seemed like white is a little less likely to show the dirt.
For me to pick the color will be a little tougher if I decide to go for it. the brighter white wouldn't look right so it will take some sort of different color. Champagne? I am not sure.
Thanks for looking guys. It is a continual project for me... as I suppose most are.

A bright white wouldn't be bad but I would agree may not look 'best' against that yellow. I would research OE GM 2-tone combos from that era to find out if they used 'fleet white' or a different shade of white.

Also, there are other manufacturers that have nice 'classic' whites (Fords Wimbledon or Ermine White; Chryslers Cool Vanilla; Porsches Chalk White).

Good luck with the color change. Careful, I was having my 55 touched up and it ended up in paint jail. Actually I went and got it, it's in limbo.

Any car shows coming up around you?

Re: Photoshop my 1968 to 2 tone please

Scotti I have not ruled out any of the other makers for the paint. But I think a bright white against the bright yellow would be a bit stark. The base color for my truck is millennium yellow as I was looking the other day I saw a "speedway white" as a corvette option in that same time frame. I may look a little more at that as well thinking it might compliment this.
Other Larry, I hate to hear that about your 55, but I am glad you got it back. It shouldn't be that hard to get something done.
As far as carshows I have not heard much. I don't seem to be in the "loop" here. I have stumbled onto a couple recently but nothing I knew about. I know people are ready to get out and about and go to the shows. I may poke around and see if I find anything. Its getting to be a nice time of year to get out.
Good luck on your 55.

Re: Photoshop my 1968 to 2 tone please

Thanks guys, I think like most of the anniversary paint schemes it would look pretty good. Here is one I saw a while back and peaked my interest. Its not the true factory colors but I liked it.

I love the first photo with the 1 piece windows and late model mirrors that fill the corners, nice wheels and perfect stance also.

Re: Photoshop my 1968 to 2 tone please

the two tone solidifies the nature of these trucks as timeless, some solid colors dependent of wheel can really date the look.

i am not at this point a fan of one piece windows...i have seen a few that are acceptable, but the later model mirror just does not work for me...to modern and too out of place.

Re: Photoshop my 1968 to 2 tone please

Unclebrad, that is exactly it. Thank you very much. I had given my hand at one of the online programs but didn't get it anywhere near that.
I appreciate it. I had almost decided to just go with it and give it a shot to change things up since it has been painted around 12 years. I just haven't had anytime to start but that will be what it would look like for sure.
again thanks,
Dave
