Re: Pics of trucks in Primer Paint

Loving all the pics....Are you guys basicly just scuffing and then hitting it with this stuff????

Ive been taking everything 1 piece at a time to bare metal...Then going with Self Etching, Then High Build Primers...Then I plan to hit it with Rust-Oleum Semi Gloss Black Enamel

Can’t speak for anyone else, but when I painted my 1960 Blitz Black it received full prep short of taking the truck apart. Bare metal was hit with epoxy primer, then high fill 2K primer, blocked out and painted with as much attention as when I painted it with black lacquer 9 years earlier.

My first rattle can job didn’t receive quite as much prep. I washed it off with laundry detergent, masked it with 1 roll of tape and some newspapers, and had at it with a case of spray cans. It looked pretty darn good considering:

Re: Pics of trucks in Primer Paint

Wow a GMC grille in that condition can bring almost that much money. And the window trim is an extra bonus! Great score.

Re: Pics of trucks in Primer Paint

sidthirteen how much did you drop your truck? And did you use the springs or converted the front end? Thanks and good looking truck. I want to drop mine just using the springs, but don't want it to end up uneven...

Ill bite, the Pontiac was my first car, done in Rustoleum Flat Black, the Chevy was done in Rustoleum Satin Colonial Red. Both of them were rattle-canned.

Here is mine the one with the black bumper and grill was first the i added the chrome bumpers and painted the grill cast coat aluminum. Then i did the disc brake upgrade and a 12 bolt rear end swap. Now its 5 lug... i miss the older wheels!! Its all tinted primer and john deere flat black.
