Suburban Interior Roof Panels

Does anyone know if anyone sells the interior roof panels for a 1971 Suburban. From the pic I was sent it looks like I need only one.

Re: Suburban Interior Roof Panels

They are not reproduced. I believe some one has some digital patterns in a thread. Some have used a bathroom paneling product called FRP.

Here is a pretty good thread on headliners. OP mentions a kit.

Brother's is making them now, in cloth and perforated vinyl and several colors. Thinking about ordering some for mine when it comes out of paint.

Be aware that the aftermarket headliners do not install like the originals. They hang from metal rods (bows) like the older vehicles did. You might want to do some reading on them before you order.

Thanks for the info Leon. If I bought the new headliner kit I would be taking it and the Burb to my upholstery guy for installation. I'm getting a little old to be crawling around inside a Burb ( I'm 6' 2" ) while trying to attach panels to a roof. I usually leave specialty work like this to the pros.

Re: Suburban Interior Roof Panels

I wish Brothers would show a picture of the Headliner. I was going to buy a "OEM" reproduction radio from them but after looking closely at the picture they had I could tell the radio was similar in appearance to OEM but it had a lot of differences too.

Re: Suburban Interior Roof Panels

Thin perforated hardboard is available from specialty wood suppliers.

REM Automotive sells sheets of it as headliner board

Re: Suburban Interior Roof Panels

I ordered that headliner kit from Brothers many years ago, and it is exactly what they advertise it as. But I decided not to use it, since it reminded me of the headliner in my 1972 Camaro.
