Good bye old friend

I made a decision last week to send my square to a new owner. Many of you have seen lots of pictures of my stepper over the years. The truck was acquired by me almost exactly 10 years ago as a rusted mess. I had planned to "re-do" the truck, new exhaust, new air ride parts, freshen her up under the hood, and add EFI to the 454. The desire wasn't there to turn another wrench on the "Old Heap". So, I traded the square for an all original 50 Chevy 2 door hard top that has zero rust. The car will be getting a V-8, automatic, and rear end conversion shortly. Oh, and of course, a static drop will follow.

Anyway, I still have my 50 pickup and 97 GMC, 2DR, 2WD Yukon, so the forum will still be a daily stop for me. Plus, I'm sure another Square is in my future.

Re: Good bye old friend

Thanks for the complements guys, much appreciated. I'll miss my square, I was just tired of it really and I have 3 other trucks. The exhaust rusted from sitting on the driveway, tires dry-rotted, as well as the air bags, hoses etc. I had driven it roughly 100 miles over the last 3 years. It was time to move on.

Here's a shot of the 50, the lack of any rust is new to me, now I know how you west coast guys feel. LOL

Yes, that's a Buick GS in the background, belongs to my best friend, it's been in his family since new.

Re: Good bye old friend

I loved you stepper. Your new ride looks like it will be a good one too. Hope the new owner gets on the board here. It will always be good to see more of the old stepper.

Re: Good bye old friend

What a nice and clean looking 50.

My dad has a 50 Chevy gasser, might be a 51. Not my cup a tea but it certainly stands outs. It is fast and scary, but not scary fast. Car was built in Socal in the late 60's.

Re: Good bye old friend

Here is my 50. I sold my 67 c10 to get into the old school and it milked the living crap out of my budget. OG parts were so expensive, I had to let it go. The OG front wheel bearings alone were $89 each x 4.... I couldnt do it anymore. Good luck... glad you have other trucks!!! That was a sweet stepper though.

Never trust a big butt and a smile! ...and boy, is that a nice big butt!
