Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way

Just walked through the garage to get some more wood, turned on the lights and I was like dayum, what did I just do.

Leafs will be black, probably the axles too.

I'm thinking the orange will tone down a lot as parts get installed.

Kurt, what shackle flip do you think is the better solution? ORD or DIY? Thanks Trevor

Both are good products but being I was already ordering parts from DIY, I went with his flips.
That and the fact that his customer service & attention to keeping a customer happy/satisfied made it an easy choice.

So after seeing it 60% done, I decided the orange fame thang didn't fit this project/build to well and changed the frame color to gray.

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way

I think it looks good gray as well.

What color are you going with for the body? Or are you staying with the orange?

Body will most definitely stay orange, always wanted an orange one, maybe that's why I almost got carried away doing it.

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way

Kurt, three more questions,
1: Whose ORD shackle flip is that, that is on the frame now?
2: Is that the 4" Shackle flip for DIY?
3: Can you look at our homemade shackle flip that is on my build thread for "The Bluedress" Our frame is about to go to powdercoat and I don't want to have any problems later down the line. I believe my dad might have made it drop down too far. Thanks bud.

He's fast I tell ya. And does good work. Wish he lived next door and I could afford to have him work some magic on my pet project. That's something to ponder.

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way

Getting a furnace installed in the garage next week, already tired of the crappy little heater I'm using, after about an hour, the air quality is pretty bad.

Currently up at the other shop assembling my 70 swb 4x4 that is sold now, in a lot of ways it's bites to sell it, it's a really nice truck but on the other hand it consolidates the projects and adds funds to build the blazer.

Wow. I go on vacation for a week and you went nuts with the paint. Better choice on the gray. I think the orange would have been too much with the orange body. Glad to see you're makin progress.

See whatcha get for leavin'?

When I went out and looked at my other blazer and saw how much frame you actually see, I made the decision right on the spot to go gray.
Even gray will be bright under there, almost chickened out and went back to black.

Consolidating all the swb parts and making sure it's 100% is this weeks focus but next week after the heat gets installed, it's all blazer time.
