Re: Glamorous Gena
After talking with the drive line shop I have a half a degree down at the tail shaft they have suggested 0 to 1 degree up on the piñon. For the length of the driveline. I have great clearance at 0. 1 degree it's pretty tight. I Have a ford explorer rear also.

Re: Glamorous Gena
I am hesitant to post this for fear of the heckles of my welding LOL. Kept the original transmission crossmember and fabbed up a new one for the 4l60e. Won't look bad after some paint. no one should be under this thing looking anyway.

Don't worry about your welds and what others may think. There is always someone worse at it than you

Re: Glamorous Gena
You need a regular rubber trans mount. Frame flex could crack transmission, Vibration will be transmitted, Same reason's you don't mount the engine solid. There is a reason that no modern car's or truck's mount driveline solidly.I'd cut that mount off and redo it for a standard trans mount. Just my opinion but this is what I do for a living.{ Trans tech at chevy dealer } I'm sure other's will chime in. I am not trying to be critical only trying to help

when you set up your pinion angle, make sure the the output of your transmission and pinion are paralell or in phase. i attached a video that helps explain it all |

Re: Glamorous Gena
It's been almost a month but I finally have some progress that I wanted to share. Last of the front end parts came in Friday and here is what I have been up to. IFS has been installed, rear end has been blasted, new brakes, rotors, calipers, paint and welded for the the 4 link. 4 Link installed, two of the rims have been powdered also to make sure I like the color. frame has been blasted and powdered. Here are some pics of my progress. I thought this project was just dragging but my wife reminded me that a lot has been accomplished in 90 days. Patience

Re: Glamorous Gena
Well quick update as I've fell asleep at the wheel in the picture department but.... I know some will not like this but I modified the dash for the new stereo cut and welded accordingly. I've completely stripped the cab, added altman latches, installed a new brake booster and pedal assembly. done some minor body work put the cab on the trailer and it has been delivered to the painter for firewall and interior paint so I can mount it to the frame and start with all the wiring. I do have brake lines installed from the back forward going to get the fronts done soon. I ordered a brand new bed and fenders online so all new metal to work with in the rear.. Elk archery season starts Saturday and nothing will be touched for a month now..

Re: Glamorous Gena
Well The cab the new bed metal, and front fenders, new grill, bumper, hood, etc. have been shipped out of town for body work and prep. The painter wants the chassis by the end of November to fit and start the process of paint and mock up of the body. My goal is to have this wired and fired by Thanksgiving. the new accessory drive showed up today. all brake lines have been run, fuel tank has been purchased with fuel pump and tank mount is off to powder coat. The radiator did not sit as I expected and I had to farm out the modification of the flange on the sides to recess into the support to gain more room. Its moving along.....

I am using a fuel injected Tanks Inc tank. I only had it sitting on a floor jack in the picture.
