Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

I was a groomsman in a wedding this past weekend, so the best man and I took the opportunity to get our trucks out to support the groom (expired tags, inspections and all), even though he doesn't have his truck anymore. This was the first time in over 9 years that these 2 trucks have been together.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

then we have my dads 88 he had me do some work on, we just dropped in a crate 350 with 7xxx miles on it and the work ive done is accent the dash with a perlecent paint (tried talking him to a white to go with the truck but he picked that) after market stereo ( mind the panasonic in there right now audio guys were getting ready to sell it and didnt want to let one of my best radios go with it) and i did the 91 gauge cluster swap plus all the extras, tool box bed rails bug guard hood scoops and visor. when we picked it up it was a plain jane truck

Here's mine. Nothing fancy. Only mods done was the install of the 6.0 LS engine last year. Runs better than it ever did with the old 350.

Oh yeah, forgot those. I have done some minor mods to the truck but nothing substantial. Mainly braking mods to increase braking performance.

I have done a lot of replacing on mine..... I like to stay as OEM as possible, with Delco parts, etc. Adding stuff that is model correct on the exterior.

'Wing' mirrors, but one thing I can't find at the salvage yard...

.....I am looking for those 4x4 factory fender skirts, like in Mickey's photo. ( any one with extras?)
It would be an enhancement, but staying factory correct. The aftermarket
ones are ... 'aftermarket'...

Also, I heard I can up-grade the master cylinder with a later model one, to make the brakes more firm.

With 375,00 miles, a GOOD repaint is just about the only replacement left!
I will have the original style pinstripe done, but this time, the stripe will be under the clearcoat.

Mountie, I might be able to get them at the junk yard. I did see an OBS style Suburban with the skirts on it. I can possibly obtain them for you and ship them.

I missed a set of those, including OEM tires with basically zero miles for $500. Didn't have the bux

My job keeps me very busy...... I have gone to the salvage yards a few times
with no luck..... I think I'll fine them eventually, but if you find some in paintable condition, I'm interested.....

I believe the ones I saw are like mine, BLACK. I'm not sure they are paintable. That is something you would have to know for sure. I can inquire about them and let you know about price of skirts/shipping.

I would say the smooth ones are paintable, The textured ones can be painted but don't look right except satin black.

Nearly ANYTHING is paintable.... it's all in the prep / primer.

They usually come black........ I am interested in getting 'em!
