Blazer total height with 4" lift and 33" tires?

I am currently working on a 70 4wd blazer project and doing a frame off restoration. Bought the vehicle from a shop, while they are starting body work, i took the chassis to mock up with ls/4l60e and then get everything powder coated.

My dilemma is i am not sure what lift it currently has, but would like to go with a 4" suspension lift with 33" tires, but am limited to my 7ft garage. I have done some searching here and found some evidence that it will barely clear as well as calculations based off spec'd stock height and tires.

I know there is probably variation between suspension brands, but I am asking for help if any members have this setup, could do a quick height measurement to the top of the hard top!? I would appreciate it greatly so i can feel confident ordering the correct lift. Thanks, Aaron

Great, thx!

How do you like the rough country? I have read mixed reviews. Price is definitely better

I think the ride could be better. I'm by no means a guru on suspensions but the price was right, and I think you would have to spend a lot more to increase the ride quality to a point that it was noticeably better.

Wouldn't 74" be 6' 2" ?

Re: Blazer total height with 4" lift and 33" tires?

I've got a 4" lift and 33's on my green blazer and it clears a 7' door and measures ~79" tall. On day I'll downsize the lift - too tall for my liking and I'm worried my wife will tear off the gb door when she scrambles inside.

My '70 is also at 79". But,.. I have 35's, 4" front rancho and 3" rear blocks. So feel more confident?, Or more confused?

Yep, thanks everyone, feel pretty confident, going to pull the trigger on the 4" leaf springs...if too tall i guess i can load it up with some sand bags, lol

now just need to decide if i want to save a few bucks and go rough country or shell out more for a softer ride!

For what it's worth, I'm so happy I never put a lift kit in mine. Blazers have unique feel to them already, mainly because of the short wheelbase and take a while getting used to. Unless you really need the ground clearance, I wouldn't lift it. IMHO, they don't look right way up in the air and will handle even worse.

Re: Blazer total height with 4" lift and 33" tires?

just factor this in...because I did not

4 inch lift is a true 4 inch lift OVER stock height......so if its has sagged a inch or so you may go up more than 4 inches.....

my surburban...I did a 4 inch lift and 35 tall tires.....and didn't factor in for the sag
