Last of my household "projects"...

For now anyways... School is getting ready to start, so I gotta go back to work after being off all summer. People who know me, know that I cant sit still or be idle for long.

My friend gave me this "pie cabinet" as she called it. It belonged to her grandmother. I absolutely love natural wood, so I refinished it as well as gave it some personal touches. Still going to give it another coat of clear satin.

Re: Last of my household "projects"...

This one pretty much completed my back porch, structurally any ways. I disassembled the sink, it had a top cabinet on it too that was rotted. The only thing that is original is the doors and the sink itself. The rest I rebuilt. I tiled the top of it to match the bar top that I did earlier in the summer. I still have to secure the sink and add a back splash.

Lookin' good Jodie! I have trouble sitting still too so I'm always doing something.

Only difference is I don't have to go back to work.. Well, on my trucks maybe.

Re: Last of my household "projects"...

Pie Cabinets/pie safes were for putting pies and cakes in to cool or rest after cooking. Then for storage until chow down time.

Kept the bugs and kids out and what not. Hence the screens on the doors. That is a very nice one.

This was before central air, plastic containers and refrigeration, etc..

Neat work on the sink!

Re: Last of my household "projects"...

Thanks boys. LocDoc, I look forward to the day when I can just stay home and work. :0)

Woogeroo, I thought it was supposed to have screen or something on the back. It wasnt there when I got it,may have to look for some.

I enjoy my projects. My husband isnt shocked anymore when he comes home to me weilding a sledge hammer at a wall or floor
