Well I was on a mission tonight. I blanked out the floor panels tonight along with the fire wall and the rear inner cab corners. What I would do without my trusty plasma cutter and the 4 1/2 grinder with a cut off wheel got everything done in 2 hrs. Should be able to start bead rolling the panels in and have it welded in by the end of the weekend. I will then work on the back tranny tunnel and roll it. I can not do the front removable one until I do the fire wall. I am waiting for the brake booster setup then I will start on the fire wall and toe boards. Here are some pictures.

Shannon, how much clearance do you have between the floor braces and top of the frame? I'm hoping to not need a driveshaft tunnel or a trans tunnel (turbo 350). I'm planning on using the cab mounts from Jeff's 51 ( plans he posted). Also as far as building a bed... did you use 16 ga. for the stake pockets also? Are they plug welded in and then capped off from the out side? I've got a really nice spot welder at work that should work well for that.

Shannon, just caught your new build thread today. Don't know how I missed it earlier. Everything is looking good. I love the body pieces you make for the cab line, super job. Will be watching this one real close. Will also be waiting for the panel thread....Jim

Atommik, I think it is like 4". Mine are based off of Jeff's 51 but I used 3" x 3" 3/16 wall tubing. I have used 16 gauge for the stake pockets. I made a template and cut them out with my plasma cutter. I put the bend on the inside to smooth them out. I plug weld them. I have also used 2" x 4" box too. I like the box the best. After they are welded on I cap the outside on. I use 1 1/2 box for the frame work. I then use aluminium angle for the board hold downs. I drill them all and weld a nut on in the inside if the stake pockets , that is way I cap them last.

BBEEP, It has to be the picture. It is a aftermarket replacement. It does look wider though. There you go there is another modification you could do. Haha. Yours is coming along great.

Started doing the paneling tonight. I did 3 out of the 4 pieces. I have one more to panel and then I have to do some 1/4" beads and then drill my holes for the plug welds. Weld the floor in and then the rear tranny piece. As you can see I had my little helper with me. He talked all day about helping his dad in the garage. Yep, another car nut!

I now have all the paneling done except the 1/4 beads. I also have to roll the tranny tunnel. Next is to drill all the plug weld holes. So I should have them welded in this weekend. Here are the latest pictures.

I'm liking to floor pan. I'm going to be building mine as well and if I'm good enough, maybe santa will bring me a bead roller. What thickness did you use for the floor?

I got the tranny tunnel rolled this morning down at my buddies house. He has a 4' slip roll. I am working on a 29 Ford sedan down there right now . I put a Heidt's IFS in it which lead to a whole bunch of other changes! Fix one thing that creates 5 other problems. So I came home to see how it looked. It needs a little trimming but looks great.

Had a good day. Worked early this morning and then had family pictures taken and the went back out and I got a lot done. I now have the floor pans welded in except the rear tranny tunnel. That will be this week. And then the fire wall. I got the brake booster assembly this weekend.So I can start on doing that. Here are some pictures.

So the rolling the driveshaft tunnel didn't screw up the beading? Can you explain how that works for those of us who haven't done that? Looks great!

BlueJeep, blitz'd, AUSSIE54, Thank you, I paneled it the way that I did all the others. I then put it in the slip rolls and rolled it. Believe it or not it did not smash the paneling. I seen it done before and thought I would try it. I know what you mean it is to nice to cover but it adds a lot of strength to the floor.

Boy it seems like a while since I last posted. I have been super busy at work and with the holidays coming up. But today I got a lot done. I cut out the rest of the firewall, built the recessed booster panel, made the firewall and the foot boards and then fit everything and tacked in place. Fire wall turned out great, Next is to make the inner cowl panels and the removable tranny cover. The booster bracket needs some more supports too. Then the steering column. Here are some pictures.
