I have to make a mold of the windshield in fiberglass, trim it to fit, and then use that as a pattern to cut the glass...

Re: my radical 60 build

I would like to get it so that I can drive it for a few years, and then at some point blow it apart , and go full show with it..

It was originally supposed to be my shop truck....but things got a little out of hand...

Re: my radical 60 build

i agree with the rest the top chop brings it back to proportion and its an awesome build , i think i would given up about halfway and started contemplating ways to die but it turned out pretty good
if you left the angle of the sidepilars somewhat the same you should be able to fit an original windscreen cut at the top it should be enough to counter the extra width

still looking at the top of the bed there and thinking it would look better if its raised to about the same hight as the hood ........... hmmmm howbout cutting some hoods and front sheetmetal up and make it all intoo a decklid might even be able to make a dip between the rearlights

i got a job again and having fun at it too

idea's for the trucks and the order of things to do are taking shape and get closer to being realized , a few more months and i be able to start building for real

i complete 2 of the trucks intoo running fashion one custom and one basicly stock the thirth will be sacrificed for parts

I had done a photo chop of a raised bedrail-kind of like a cut off suburban- I was actually hoping to get out of sectioning the top of the bed- but decided against it, just didn't look right.
In the end this will probably get a 60's custom looking tonneau cover, I am thinking 3/4 inch plywood, and covered with roll&pleated material.

I finally got this back in the shop for some much needed grinding on the welds.
I have been seriously side tracked since august, dragged my 50 chev convertible to my place (some mice/rats were trying to move in where it was stored) and got to lowering it, and welding a new floor in it, I had a line on a 61 short step that was going to be a motor donor for the 50, and a parts truck , but the deal fell through. Then I traded my model t for a corvette, so I had to stop everything , and build an extension for my carport before the snow hits.
finally,2 weeks ago my wife decided she needed a "twilight truck"-a red 63 long step-so we went to idaho and picked up a 63 for her...
So this winter I will try and concentrate on the 61 and the 63!!
we'll see what happens

mines chopped 3...the roof only needed to be widened 3/4 of an inch... would be less for 1.5-2...

thats true. i figured since i was going through all the work i might as well chop it, but theonly reason im going though all this work and not just swapping cabs is its a matching number truck...so idk yet, maybe i should leave it stock .. how did ur door and roof pillars all work out? it looks like it has worked out good? i might only need to widen it like 1.4-1/2 inch? how bout length?

urs looks amazing tho, i love the 60s show car kinda look.
